Re: Would you go to AC?
In a nutshell, absolutely. Better pay longer term, predictable schedule, better retirement options, generally better benefits, then there is job security. You fly plane, do job and go home. No fretting explaining to the boss why his third trip in a row is canceled for a maintenance issue, no caterin...

Re: Direct entry captain Air Sprint.
Are they getting large cabin jets? I must have missed that news. It will for sure be over 160, but that calls for a 35 year payscale! It’s only logical that they will. Their business model is the same as Flex in the US, and with over 30 tails it’s only a matter of time. They’ve copied everything el...

Re: Direct entry captain Air Sprint.
My apologies, I could have communicated it better. It “was” the best place I’ve worked. “Was” is very much the key word here. …and to avoid the oh you’re a shill for speaking positively loop about a company I will say the salary structure is made to attract pilots especially on the cj. In my opinio...

They also have a 25 year payscale, increasing less than 1-2% per year. But people still apply, cause realistically it's marginally better than the regionals. It’s exactly like a regional. Below average pay, work 17+ days a month (sometimes forced), bonded on each type, a pay-scale that doesn’t matc...

Dedicated or seat swap?
Thought it was a standard for years, but the lines are becoming blurred as newer guys are coming online, so lets see whats out there in todays world. For op’s with both seat qualified individuals, do you…. 1: Stay in the seat you are assigned for the the trip (rotating pic for trips so everyone gets...

Re: Does Transport Canada even exist?
So, it's time to renew my license booklet. Downloaded the form, filled it out, got my passport photo taken. Off to the regional office to drop it off. The office is closed; sign on the door says it's open "by appointment only". Now, I've been on hold for like an hour, listening to the recording tel...

737 all day long. Most airlines you’ll top turbo prop captain pay sitting right set in the 37 in only a few short years, build seniority and have a better lifestyle. Plus not having to listen to the ‘wohn…..wohn…..wohn….wohn….wohn of props forever falling out of sync.

Re: Wow I thought salaries were on the rise
If you aren’t making at least 200k with a corporate jet job in Canada today, you need to revisit your life choices. even some flight departments in the Maritimes are now paying more than 200K Genuinely curious, where are these 200k+ jobs at? You'd be doing the industry a favour if everyone knew abo...

LMAO... Calgary, what did you expect? It seems the salaries out in Alberta are sub what is paid in Toronto or Montreal, why? My best guess is on housing being a lot more affordable than yyz, more desirable than yul with a better tax rate than the both of them. Younger guys want to stay in that area...

The fact there is seemingly no accountability on this, is maddening. Try raising it to a the next level, and crickets is all you will get.
