Re: J'accuse
Actually my post was a compliment to Rotten Apple, I'm really a big fan. And a friend of his away from this forum.
Re: J'accuse
Could there be anyone else capable of that?

Re: Union Vote 22 July - 05 Aug
I'm not sure why you'd consider this a sad thing. The pilot group is far from 'divided', this is a very civil group with both sides interested in what the other has to say. In fact I believe its a very healthy split that will keep the company on its toes.

Re: Canada Jetlines
The fundamental question for any investor is simply "what is this companies competitive advantage?". Lets see, flying the same aircraft type on less profitable routes? The only advantage this company will have is the shit wages it'll pay its employees, primarily the pilot group. I'm all for competit...

Re: Four cabin crew suspended after walking off plane
If this had of been Westjet the F/A's would have been given a huge dose of kudos and the Captain would have been fired.

Re: Canada Jetlines
I'm very sceptical that this venture will ever gain the financial traction required to get off the ground. Yes there are similarities between these times and the mid to late 90's when Westjet got a foothold in the market but theres a lot thats different as well. Low interest rates, fuel prices and t...

Re: Pilot Wages at WJ (1996 Start-up)?
It wouldn't be a stretch to say that when the entire compensation package was considered WJ pilots between 1996-2000, averaged out, were perhaps the highest paid pilot group in the world narrow body or otherwise. A matter of being in the right place at the right time. Whether or not you were there ,...

Re: Pilot Wages at WJ (1996 Start-up)?
I don't recall anyone jumping ship from A/C or Canadian for Westjet in those days.

Re: WestJet pilots vote in favour of a new five-year deal
It'll always be a game of give and take, definitely a better deal then the last proposal. Whether you're for it or against it you've got to appreciate the hard work the WJPA reps put into it. Its certainly not perfect but without question some good gains were made especially regarding the 17th day i...

Re: New Hire Bases & Commuting
Please excuse me if I'm totally out to lunch but even though you're technically not "common employer" Air Canada employees with an earlier hire date have priority over a Jazz employee on their own airline?

I wasn't to sure if that 777 guy had actually applied at WJ but having read his last post its fairly obvious that he's been pfo'd. Good luck on your next try.

No crew grooming on the 767. With any luck that'll catch on.
Re: Why?
1500 hrs total time for a Dash skip. I guess this is all we can get with the crap wage. This is a hell of a lot more demanding then our 737 jobs. Therefore we're basically saying that all pilots aren't worth shit regardless of their experience. Very sad. I know there will be replies to this post sta...

Reciprocal question
Hi guys hoping someone can answer a question for me. If I'm flying with you folks as a reciprocal jump seat pilot am I allowed to check bags? Trying to get to Europe next month and I've heard both yes and no from various pilots, fa's, csa's etc. If anyone has a definite answer I'd really appreciate ...

Good on ya Jazz
Hi guys, Ive been reading this forum for years and don't comment very often, however today I felt compelled to do so. I happened to be in the line up today during the shitshow in Yvr. Prior to pushback we overheard a certain northern operator decline a spray with atc. Now we're not talking about a c...

Re: Encore's CP & DFO
I'm not here to argue for or against the WAWCON at Encore...Maybe I'm not even a pilot, however having been in business most of my life I've noticed that when the competition is pissed then you've made a sound business decision. It makes me wonder how the pilots at other companies would have voted i...

Re: Need advice: Is changing careers at 30 a viable option?
My advise would be not to piss around too long. I personally think a 3 year time frame to get things going is not the way to do it. Bite the bullet, take the plunge and get it done. Take the training on like a job and you should be able to wrap the whole thing up in less than a year. Trust me its le...
