Re: Best/Worst Layovers

nothing wrong with YXS; the old place or the new. Not a fan of YQT hotel location. The hotel is what you'd expect there. YYT property is lame; we can do better, its just going to cost us. YYZ one of the hotels there needs to change! Fav's would be getting "displaced" to a 5 star location in tropical...

A380 stuck in YYZ

Lots of ppl went to hotels last night as the 'whale' had issues leaving YYZ.
Any ideas; it looked like the nose gear was cranked from pushback or the nose steering went AWOL.
Poor buggers!!

Re: Experience Level of current new hires

77W, I'd agree with most of this info. To generalize, before Encore was around, you probably have another 2-3 years of experience to go...and the time frame would likely shorten up if you had some time at Jazz, Georgian, Calm Air, etc. Although it's nice to see a person focused and have a goal, don'...

Re: WestJet pilots look to Unionize

To: flyer 1492, Your comments are inaccurate, and the tone of your response was very poor. WJ's last three CP's have been some of the best guys you could fly with or want to deal with in an office scenario. They have our backs, and never hesitate to reach out and help if/when needed. Re: Crew Rostering/Scheduling Scheme at Westjet

Poor ol WJ700...sounds like they had to pack his/her bag for once and go on a "real pairing"... ...and stay in a hotel. I'm laughing with you, not at you. Same for me in Jan! Not the sked I had anticipated/hoped for, but it had been 8 or 10 months since I'd had a "less than ideal sked". WJ70...

Re: Crew Rostering/Scheduling Scheme at Westjet

I think you have to average around 50 hours though. and if you don't, the guy with the LuluLemon jacket comes to your house; makes you drink some koolade, slaps some wings on yeer shirt and takes you back to the hangar...where you await your next FLiCA mission. The flexibility of the system is quit...

I like the landscape frame, and colors in the Caravan shot. It looks almost remote. Nice snap!!

Tex North, Yes, there is at least one guy there. Don't think you'll find him on a forum...he's not into computers, he's into "the mountain". He's being doing it for a long time. The good thing about the schedule is that there is options for just about every possible scenario. Doesn't mean you'll alw...

as per "factchecker" - 'So lets say you are in your early 20,s. In your late 20's you are a very marketable guy with quality wide body time. Go home if you want. Fly for WestJet. Or stay and get the left seat in your mid 30's.' Sorry, there may be the odd guy like this that gets on at WJ, but not li...

Re: Good SE BC airplane choice.......

You can't go wrong with the 206! Lots of great machines out there, doing what you are about to. If the strips are really tight or you are often full, consider getting one with either a smidge more power (ie, 550 and new prop combo), or a STOL kit, or if you are really fortunate...BOTH. If you always...

I'm pretty sure hell will freeze before I see the stock stay at a high price because we adjusted the FA scale! Perhaps if you could pull the price of oil down, that might do something significant!!

@M. Essaie- not very many if you are trying for 1 or 2 day pairings, or say if you live in Vancouver, you could prioritize layovers in YVR, and you'd be home...say, half of your overnights in a month. Sample trips; 1 day; LAS or PSP or MCO turn or Mexico and back (PVR, MZT etc) or alberta to BC, twi...
