Re: 6-6-6 rule currency
Guess I got lucky with my group 3 in a 172 before our 185 was ready to go.I requested that my training include in cloud experience & told them that I hated wearing the hood. Instructors actually commented that I flew much better in the soup than under the hood on pretty days. Got my group 3 & first ...

I use the canon tr150,probably a newer version out there but it just sits on the back seat in case I need it.
Can run on battery & is wireless capable, makes printing super easy.

Re: iFR charts and plates ?
I bought a portable printer & print the plates I need for the flight, originally printed them full page but found that to be a waste of paper so now print 1/2 sheet so I can get 4 plates on one piece of paper(2 per side). Ironically on my last ipc the examiner said to me that my iPad just shut off,ho...

Re: Run ups at CYQB
I have always asked where I could do my run up when at unfamiliar airports, some have been on the taxiway just prior to taking the active while others have either been at the edge of the fbo apron I’m on or in an area designated by the tower. Never bothered me one bit to ask at callup & pretty much e...

Is it possible that you were going to do your run up in a noted airport hotspot?

Re: Steinbach midair
Can’t blame an uncontrolled airport for the midair - neighbours called me the other evening to say that they witnessed an almost midair over our houses about a 1/4 mile from the button of 26R in Pitt Meadows - I listened to the audio & it turns out one of the aircraft didn’t follow the atc instructi...

I didn’t look at the video & yes there are corporate farms with their finger in more than the dairy industry.

Re: 25% Tariff on all non US made Autos.
The dairy & cheese quota was put in place to give Canadian farmers a chance to make a living & have a stable income. I guess you could say go ahead & get rid of it & while we’re at it let foreign pilots fly Canadian aircraft & non Canadian airlines service Canada because heck they could do it cheape...

Re: 25% Tariff on all non US made Autos.
Not sure if my comments fit this thread or not but something that appears to have been overlooked is that Canada put 100% tariffs on Chinese built EV’s to hopefully prevent tariffs on US bound ,Canadian autos & parts. In return China put 100% tariffs on Canadian canola & peas;considering that almost...

I would take a military trained pilot over a civilian trained pilot every time.
Did you not get a job you bid on because a military pilot with more experience, but less hours get it instead?

Too late for me - just updated our 185 & put in a Garmin 345 with diversity.
Mapping the antennas so it wouldn’t interfere with anything else took a bit of thought though, hasn’t even flown yet since the Garmin updates.

Re: Oxygen for GA
I was an industrial first aid attendant in the 80’s & 90’s.We were taught that a welders oxygen tank could be used as the oxygen content was the same - you had to have an adapter to be able to fit the mask hose. There is no oil in oxygen - they don’t mix well at all & in fact even lipstick & chapsti...

AME’s can cross to millwright with their skills, makes you a bit over experienced for the job but if the pay & the job is there….
My dad transitioned to millwright & was even asked why he would go backward - his answer was that that’s where the job was.

When I got my ticket the answer was fly to the fix & hold until you’re expected arrival time & then fly the full proceedure.

My adb expires April 1st.I was told not to send it in before the end of January so I sent it in the end of February & am awaiting its arrival.
