Re: Encore WACON released and surprise, it sucks
How? Well, it's easy when you have been making profit after profit for the last 15 years or so. You forget that maybe, just maybe things may slow down (or even head the other way) one day. And we are all humans...nothing wrong with thinking positive, but at some point you gotta ask yourself if this...

Re: Encore WACON released and surprise, it sucks
Why are you WJ guys defending this so strongly? exactly! Because there is not a single WJ pilot that will ever tell you that what westjet is doing is wrong. Why? Because it does not effect THEM!!! I need to ask this. Would any current WJ pilot who are for encore still feel this way if come the new ...

Re: Encore WACON released and surprise, it sucks
uggg, another guy that cant do math. No i can do math fine thank you. I did misread the hourly rate. It is $38 rather then $32. My apologizes for that. However, it still does not solve the fact that encore is paying about 10% less for starting wage compared to other carriers. NOW if my math is wron...

Re: Encore WACON released and surprise, it sucks
Stayed tuned?? Sounds awfully familiar to what you all said before the package was released. I can't wait to sit around around for 5 years and see what it turns into. That's Great that it might turn into a great package then but why not start it there in first place and not cause further downward pr...

Re: Encore WACON released and surprise, it sucks
They have almost always under-promised and over-delivered. I would hope there is change coming because in this case the opposite is true. From my "outsider" perspective as you claim, it would seem Encore is under-delivering with their package and over-promising with flow through and what the packag...

Re: AC Interview
might be wrong, but I haven't heard of AC doing a phone interview. Usually, you just get an email inviting you to an interview. Maybe they do this sometimes or maybe they just changed their process. Wish I could give you more info.

Re: WestJet for Europe, Please! Please! I am on my knees
One would hope if WS became the national carrier in Canada they would stop with the jokes and take themselves a tad more seriously. Even though I don't work for WJ, and might agree the jokes might be too much at points I don't think it's very fair you judge an airline whether its suitable for a nat...

That's not what I meant. I meant with regards to the so called bad PFO letter that apparently never leads to another interview. I'm looking to see if it's true and see if someone who received that letter got
Another shot. I didn't mean PFO in general. Trust me, I know

Mythical PFO letter
Wondering if there is anyone out there that has received the so called "bad" letter and has gotten a call since for another interview? Thoughts?

Say whattttt?? No no no. All wrong. You must make the regional lower priority. That way they will always remember who the superior one is. ACPA got it right. Insert sarcasm. Just messing around, that sounds great

Right.....getting screwed with contract, westjet, non-unionized q400, US working conditions, near bankruptcy, canjet, sunwing, transat, non functional employee group......and your telling me Thomas Cook Jazz was the issue? That was never an issue. It never even effected AC. Its just an ACPA issue

Re "daddy is very high up at AC" .... So what? Being a Webster trophy finalist, top in class and Jazz CRJ F/O should count for something. I would have her on my crew anytime.... I'm not arguing the talent/skills/knowledge/experience of this said individual. I'm sure this person is far better pilot ...

Re: Air Canada Interviews
Interesting...cause I know a few people who have zero MPIC time and got hired, for example one of the Jazz "college kids" who probably didn't have more than 100 hours PIC time total. I know of a few guys also who only had command time on a PC-12. You're right though, why call the guy and fol him in...

Re: AC's current situation and how it could affect Jazz?
I think your naive to think they will choose the employees contract. Why did the government step in, in the first place? To stop ac from going bankrupt. Plain and simple. And which contract gives somewhat of a fair deal to employees and secures a better future for ac? The company proposed contract. ...

Re: Has AC received a government bailout since privatisation
Through long in depth stories I've been told, AC did receive funding but all through creative accounting. Not directly seen by human eye but through some changes and loops here and there it equated to some funds going to AC. Can't remember the story behind how it work, nor do I have any proof but ju...

great post.
Would anyone happen to know what the previous package was for comparison?
How long can one expect to sit as SO prior to upgrade to FO? And further how long till new hires can expect a YYZ/YVR base?

And of all those great companies that you just listed, with the exception of Fedex, how many are in Finacial trouble. Thought so Sure we could go hirer, however in 3 years we'll join the lot Those airlines are NOT in jeopardy because of the wages they pay their pilots. I'm sorry but pilot wages is ...

You're both delusional. The Jazz pilots got a raise because the CPA GUARANTEES THAT JAZZ WILL MAKE A PROFIT!!! and because the ACPA negotiated contract specified Jazz as the SOLE SUPPLIER FOR TIER 2. You're living in a bubble wearing rose-coloured glasses with your heads up your rears if you can't ...

the ACPA contract makes Jazz the sole source for tier 2 and insulates the Jazz pilots from outside economic forces. Why should you alone in the whole industry be protected in this way and, more to the point, why should the ACPA pilot group do this for you? yea ok fair enough, but at the same time, ...

It's serious such a messed up point, as to what is being focused on! Jazz is too expensive LETS FIND SOMEONE CHEAPER!!!
