For what it’s worth I have an assault charge and I’ve held a RAIC for almost 10 years. I’ve also travel to the USA a few times.

Re: A bush flying legend has passed
I grew up in Pickle Lake and my parents lived close to Pete’s house. One thing that needs to be pointed out is how Pete every year on Canada Day (or Blackfly festival to us Pickle Lakers) would offer free rides to all the kids. He’d be doing circuits all day in the Otter and Beaver. It was the highl...

Re: north star, any advice of living pickle lake or sioux lookout ??
Used to be when you took a job in a northern community, you moved there to live. Not blow all your wages running back to Toronto every two weeks to live in your parents basement. It’s not forever, you’ll make friends for life and have some interesting stories to tell the hipsters back in the big sca...

Re: Cessna 408 - FedEx orders 100
I suspect passengers are not the main reason for this aircraft. If it was it would be retractable, pressurized and have more horsepower. It seems great for places like Northwestern Ontario, drop off freight and run a couple of side trips with passengers or just combi loads. Work it hard with multipl...

Someone needs to invent some sort of reverse T tail so it could actually be de-iced up north with limited facilities.

I have an assault charge and I have a RAIC flying in the 703 world. But I sure am curious if the airlines or even the 704/705 is closed to me.

Not going to be surprised if they recreate this scene in the next Mission Impossible or similar action movie in the next few years.

The super cargo master does not have an inside door handle. They come from the factory without one exactly for the reason of cargo shifting and either locking the door closed or opening it in flight. Had shifting cargo lock the door on me once and thank Glob there was the air stair to get at the han...

Re: World of AI-FS9
World of AI is a free program to install real world airlines into flight simulator. Just download the installer and pick the airlines you want to add. There should be instructions on the website. Great program to have and very easy to use to make the simulator world a little more "real".

Rebuild the C-46 with PW123 or PW150 engines. Lighten it up with whatever new tech you can put in without getting off of the original type certificate, slap a nice glass cockpit in her and start hauling freight till ya pass out. I'll make a million!. Say, what ever happened to the turbo Caribou idea...

Re: Best headset for flight training??
Take a look around the airport and see how many pilots use David Clarks, got to tell you somthing. There are other good headsets around but you just can't go wrong with the DC 13.4. Unless your flying some radial engined airplane save your money, you don't really need an ANR headset right away. Just...

I wish the Caravan had counter-rotating propellers, or wait the Pilatus, or wait, the Turbine Otter. Yeah that would look bad ass!
