Re: Pacific Coastal
Update to prior post: From a reliable source I have heard that Pasco is going to fix any issues with Employee ROE's. Former employees are urged to contact their former managers at Pasco if they have issues with the insurable hours that were reported on the ROE. Me262: All CYYC employees associated w...

Re: Pacific Coastal
Any former Pacific Coastal Airlines employees are urged to check your ROE (Record of Employment) for the correct amount of insurable hours. It has been brought to CRA and Service Canada's attention that the credits had been used for insurable hours not the actual hours worked (scheduled or duty hour...

Brantaero - Avoid Employment
Avoid this company when seeking employment. Very poor attitude when dealing with applicants.

I would also add know your Human Rights.
Canadian Aviation companies have far too long been taking advantage of pilots and we need to stick up for our rights.

Re: Transport Canada Internal Policies
While I am all for bureaucratic efficiency, one work-around is to get a FAA Certificate. In fact, given the relative ease of getting one thanks to then FAA/TCCA Implementation Procedures for Licensing (IPL) agreement, I can't understand why any Canadian pilot who is not seriously looking at oversea...

Re: Regional airline loses 1.5-million passenger contract with Air Canada, but firms deny safety concerns a factor
The best news is the pilots will be able to move over to Jazz rather then unemployment. I wish them all the best in the transition.
As for GGN this was a long time coming. The company deserves it, nothing more needs to be said.

Transport Canada Internal Policies
Many may not know Transport Canada has internal policies that are going to start cost Canadian Pilots a lot of potential over seas work. 1) they will not issue a license verification letter other than to another civil aviation authority. Most over seas airlines will want this before even considering...

Re: Canadian Jetlines five Boeing 737 MAX 7's
When they first started they said they had done market studies and concluded the A319/320 was the prefect aircraft for the job. Now all of a sudden the A319/320 isn't the right choice. So if they were wrong about their first choice of aircraft. That doesn't say much about the business model. What el...

Re: Jetlines files preliminary IPO
The Ryan Air cost structure we can only hope is confined to the passengers. If they do expect or want air crews to pay for their own training then they shouldn't be allowed to start up at all. The Airbus SIM time in North America might be an issue, especially in Canada. Which would mean it would hav...

Re: Renegotiating with Air Canada
It's all part of the race to the bottom... which is why all pilots need to unite and say "NO!" Pilots have lost so much ground in the last decade it's unbelievable. The RJ used to be a mainline aircraft paying mainline wages and now it's at Jazz where pilots are getting paid less to operate it than...

Re: Canada Jetlines
I would have a backup plan. Get the type rating, get a hundred or so hours. Have some money on hand to pay the remaining bond and leave if you have to. Not ideal by any means but there is work over seas with a type rating and time on type. Very few other options when things go down the crapper fast....

Re: Did Purolator dump KFL for Cargojet??
CJ guys I do believe are ALPA or another Union now. Working conditions were so bad I think it forced them into doing something. I'm sure Barry LaPointe got himself a nice chunk of CJ stock before all this went down just to cover any losses. The employee's will be the big losers in all this. Can't im...

Nope KFC is out 100% as of March 2015, no extensions. A sad day indeed for a lot of good long time pilots with carrier's.

What I don't understand why PIC time on small turbines gets you in ahead of people that have more right seat time on a large jet? You know people that have all the requirements to be a jet PIC but want to go to AC.

Anyone know the working conditions at China Airlines?
I would like to know the current working conditions at China Airlines if anyone knows.
Do they have the credit hour or credit day system?
What is the start pay?
Do they have pilots based in Canada?
Any info would be great.
Thanks

I don’t think anyone is bashing KF here. I have said nothing derogatory about the company. In fact it is the best company I have worked for and is quite fair to its pilots. I myself would like a long career at KF, but the way things are going an upgrade probably won’t happen before I’m laid off or t...

No one at KF expects and upgrade but the fact is the 727 is not an economical aircraft compared to more modern aircraft. With Purolator loads increasing the usefulness of the 727 is decreasing by the year. The SO’s at KF know that the 727 will probably not be around another 8 – 10yr. So it is only a...

I don't remember a KF SO more than five years to get a right seat except by choice, lots got the right seat in 1-2 years. Not to say 5 years can't happen. Things are slower at most places these days. nite raider (your spelling, not mine) – I call a wait period of 1 – 2yrs for an upgrade changing to...

Regency - good guys, they helped me out a lot. Paying for a PPC it won't do you any good unless you have the total time and the PIC that single pilot operators want. If you have the TT, the PIC, and need to renew your IFR go for it. That way you'll get a PPC at least out of the deal. I wouldn't say ...
