Re: Flying over gross?

Should we give instruction in how to fly inside cumulonimbus clouds with hail in them so you will know how to handle it if you accidentally fly into one? By the way I have been in that situation a few times and you don't have enough money to get me to fly into one just to teach you what it is like....

Re: Flying over gross?

I understand you, as well as everyone else RB, and appreciate all the info. But as I just pointed out in my last post, this all started out of a reply I made to another thread weeks ago. It's just really annoying when people don't read, or understand what I'm saying and turn things around, because I...

Re: Flying over gross?

"How to make unsafe situations safer"? *shakes head!!* Why would you accept an unsafe situation to begin with?? 4 pages of people scorching you and you still don't get it. grrrrrr....wow....no it's in fact you who "doesn't get it". For effin sakes dude, get your head out of your ass and read my god...

Re: Why am I getting such attitude when I call places??

I've had some CP's with some pretty bad attitude when I've called, I assume due to the number of calls a day they must get.

Re: Flying over gross?

Well I'm glad I kinda left this to the old timers to duke out, turned into quite the discussion. For all those "westward_bound haters" that this discussion created, just know this all started from a reply I made to a similar thread that was talking about poor maintenance and out of limits flying. I ...

Re: Plane crashes on squamish Glacier (again)

Maybe the only things that should go on the glaciers are heli's then?

I mean, how the hell do they judge the slope, or topography of a blinding white surface??? Airplanes landing on snow covered mountains always amazed me.

Re: Save face--continuation of removed thread

Alright, well the clouds are starting to part slowly(although it's still 7/8's out here)....Maybe there should be a list of companies who are known to push pilots...kinda like the thread that has companies that don't require bonds.

Re: Plane crashes on squamish Glacier (again)

No SOS, or HELP, our typical Canadian. He took the extra time to stamp out HELLO in giant letters in the snow. How very polite, and good of him not to provoke alarm...stiff upper lip and all that. That made me laugh too. Not sure if it's proper to put names, but they said that one of the passengers...

But again, that would be in a perfect world, but we don't live in such. I live in a perfect world I guess.....I make it perfect....I say no when I have to....I carry a bathroom scale in the trunk, make everyone get on, then add the numbers and show them the result. Laugh all you want. I intend to c...

Re: Save face--continuation of removed thread

Westword, I don't think we're trying to stoke egos here at all. I can understand what you're saying, how to handle overweight a/c and the like but I think what the real message everyone is trying to drive home is avoiding that first mistake: That being, stay out of these situations by staying away ...

Save face--continuation of removed thread

Unfortunately the thread was removed before I could respond. I just wanted to save face, because I think most people saw me talking about unsafe situations and immediately came to the conclusion that I was promoting unsafe flying. In fact my objective was the complete opposite. All I was suggesting,...

Re: Flying over gross?

Ok, well no one has really said anything new to me here. Seems like you all just want to disagree, just to disagree. I've agreed with everything you all said. I never said that I wanted to risk others, or my own life, and in fact, I said that's exactly what I DON'T want to do. My whole original poin...

Re: Flying over gross?

I fully understand what you guys are saying about refusing work, and I'd love to be able to work for an operator who will never put me in that position. But in today's economy and my personal situation, there's no way in hell I can be that picky with my job. I AM FORCED TO TAKE whatever I can get. ...

Re: Flying over gross?

Thats like saying... If a person is going to only smoke a little crack, if they had a little "training" to do so, it might make the situation a little safer. That is true tho, it would be safer. HIV needle education was one and another was getting the addicts to know the difference between good dop...

Re: Flying over gross?

Sorry Westward Bound, I cannot condone the idea that "since everyone is doing it, we should live with it and teach how best to break the rules". A better idea would be to make sure that new CPL's know what the rules are, especially with respect to Occupational Health and Safety, and know what the c...

Man comprehension seems to be such a poor quality of people on this board!! What I was also saying, is that from reading ...

Flying over gross?

I'm still waiting for my first job, but as I do my research on potential employers, I hear so much about pilots being forced(directly or indirectly) to fly in dangerous situations. Seems that at least for the low time guy looking for his first job(or 2), the likelihood of coming up against these sit...

True, I am not a fan of unions. They had their place and the time has come and gone. I also tend to think that an association would be of little benefit either. It all comes back to people just using their heads. I think the industry is covers to broad a spectrum for an association. Medicine and ot...

So they basically give you a topic and you have to come up with some bullshit and talk about it?? I don't get the point of that(for an airline interview), and what if you don't know anything about the topic?

Why do they call is toastmasters?
