Re: TC to FAA Conversion

You gotta do the CTP/ATP course now. Costs about 4500 USD.. Did mine a year ago. If you aren't a US citizen you have to use a law firm to obtain a EB-2.. costs 15-20K.. and not 100% guaranteed you'll be successful in the application process. Good luck.

Tbaylx, I'm not surprised reading this article on the Toronto Sun. You've crippled aviation in a professional manner and now you wanna continue to do so by allowing such a news article to be published? The world gives no F's about you living in a van, but they sure do seeing you in a pilot uniform o...

Re: VIDEO: Cessna 310 Crash after LEFT Engine Failure (29 Oct 2020)

I did my Multi-IFR training on the C310. Years ago we used to actually shut the engine down as a demonstration for multi training.. During mine we could not get it to start again and had to declare a mayday and come in on one and land. Doing about 20 hours in it, I found it not to be a very forgivin...

Re: Encore Recalls

Its quite clear in the PTA about bump rights. Jet driver is correct and you are not. Section 8.01 is pretty clear and its under "WestJet or Swoop layoff and recall" I understand Encore pilots are looking out for their own team, but if we keep allowing the company to do whatever it wants with these C...

Recalling out of seniority. A step in the wrong direction yet again. WJ treasured the one list now they aren't following it? It's only good for them when they want it to be. Glad folk are getting back flying but common, lets not allow any leap frogging.

No Socks is likely one of the Tech Ops who got punted out of seniority because they weren't unionized. Albeit I feel for those guys/gals, but no need to come on here and slander the pilot group over unionization (which i'm gonna bet you wish you were now) I'm looking forward to call you again to cle...

Re: Airlines ask MP’s to have COVID rules relaxed ..

Ahramin, I beg to differ about planes being "empty" .. I've been flying throughout the whole downturn and loads have really picked up in the last month.. went from being around 5-20 folks to now around 80-100 in just a month.. on average.. maybe if they relax the rules we can fill these planes even ...

Red1, We sure did.. but also created a significant amount of commuting (senior FO's west to east losing pay for hotels and or crash pads) and loss of position at lower wages. Some folk took losses of up to 70%..They could have made more staying home being with their families making same if not more....

Oh, and I also heard if you bypass your upgrade when you're eligible you can be penalized and held frozen as an FO? Anyone else shed some light on this? A fellow Encore pilot told me this.

A lot of FO's i've talk to don't wanna upgrade cause they're getting good schedules right now. Captains are working like dogs at Encore and are being asked to do more and more. It's only gonna get worse with flow being reduced and all the folk leaving for AC. Hell I get nervous DH'n on Encore when t...

Judging by the preliminary reports, these crews likely were potentially thinking they had an airspeed issue and focused maybe on that QRC first (stick shakers, overspeed etc etc) one controls while the other is grabbing the QRC... Trim wheel noise in the background along with all the other sounds th...

Airplanes have been flying in and out of ZFD for years without cleaning off some impact ice you accumulated on the way in. A Saab took off right before them with no issue. This airplane didn't just crash because of ice accumulation, there were other factors. Mishandling of the aircraft on rotation? ...

Is there an INC REF switch on the ATR? Was it left on for takeoff? Stick shaker after takeoff? Never flew the ATR but the Q400.. I seen in the simulator multiple times it left on from the previous exercise and the stick shaker going off on a normal takeoff. Thoughts?

Go work on a drilling rig for a winter and have zero debt. Trying to pay back a 40k loan while making around 1200 a month will only leave you enough for the much needed case of beer at the end of the day.
