I've been flying 14 on 3 off for about 5 years and its fine. 12 hour callout and I am gone about 120 days a year 200 hours. I do agree its a bad sched for a busy plane, but on mine it works fine

Re: Porter Airlines YQT Base - We are hiring!

I spoke to a PlaneSense pilot one day. He said they often open an Orlando base, hire a bunch of pilots, then close the base.
Not saying Porter would do that, but it happens.

Re: What's the deal with Kilmer and Onex?

TOTG you have missed the plot Pilots with those qulifications exist, they are not unicorns as you suggest. Its a legitimate posting, and a great flight department. Maybe the current Captn gave a 6 months or years notice of retirement. Plus once a Toronto based pilot has been chosen, it takes time to...

Re: Closing of a Flight Plan or Flight Itinerary Prior to Landing

That's exactly how it works, close your flightplan and your on your own after that. SAR services are terminated. For IFR you can cancel your IFR but keep your alerting services open.... the IFR flightplan has two parts....that frees up the airspace over the airport, but gives you the assurance if so...

Thanks GvyAir for posting audio Here is a comment from another forum " It's that Eva didnt bother to line up right. Those pads are wide enough for a a380 to go through without hitting the poles. The pads utilize the MARS concept that allows two narrow bodies to be tandem on the pad when a large airc...

Crew argued they hadn't hit anything. And was also warned by iceman in advance they weren't on the centreline

I used the King Videos for all my Canadian IFR, Commercial and ATPL written exams and I swear by them. Yes some thing are different but I think the understanding and retention you gain will exceed negatives associated with studying the American material

Re: An Old MIFR Rating Issue

Just a guess.....
Back then if your rating went 48 months without a flight test you had to write the Inrat again anyway. I'd say your going to have to write it again. However all your actual flight training if properly logged is still valid.
Get the King Videos they work great even on TC exams

Re: Goderich - 1 fatality, 1 missing

I think Goderich is an excellent place for dual cross country, 2 licensed pilots onboard, good weather,
Training needs to prepare pilots for actual conditions.
This may not even be a factor in this accident so I'll leave it for another thread. But there's no reason to avoid Goderich.

Most bonds say if your fired "Due to Cause" then your probably on the hook to pay.
They would have needed to give you notice and warnings in advance that go with a proper legal firing depending on if you were still in the probation period or not.
