Re: BC Charters

I know that Anderson Air uses Sovereigns and Falcons now for charter work out of the Landmark FBO. You could try them to see if they can accommodate your needs.

Re: Filing IFR with no alternate

As was mentioned, you can file a no alternate IFR flight plan. However, you need Ops Spec 83 to be approved on your OC. Here is the link to the wording:

You can also check out SkyService, Air Partners (Aircraft Works is the AMO I believe) and AirSprint. All have bases in Calgary.

West Wind takeover of Transwest

Have heard that West Wind has bought out Transwest. Any truth to this rumour? Any pilot layoffs as a result of the merger if it has happened?

Re: Brake Pressure .................. Check

Two things to add: 1. We had a brake failure on final in a JetStream 31 once. The check was in the checklist...was sure good to be able to warn the ground crew we'd be without normal brakes. 2. Re: Suncor flight dept shutting down?

What I have been hearing is that the Suncor flt dept is not shutting down. Suncor appears to be consolidating all of their subcharter work with one company...namely WestJet. All of the smaller carriers they have been using will now be replaced with one carrier.
