DAC Aviation

Hello,

Has anybody here worked for this company? I see they have a captain position in Nairobi. I think I might be interested, but I'm having a hard time finding much info on it.

Feel free to pm if you work or have worked for them.

Cheers!

Thanks for the responses. Does anyone know if others besides Wasaya have a wannabe program?

Re: Low time pilot pool

Ok, I guess they are called hiring pools here. Just to make it clear we are talking about the same thing though... Is it the case that in these hiring pools guys get their CPL and Multi IFR with IATRA, then work on the ramp while waiting for their name to come up (based on seniority I guess). Then w...

Re: Low time pilot pool

Low time pool is a program where pilots who have low time (250h for example) work their way up to getting a shot at being on the right seat of an aircraft. I guess not many operators do it then?

Low time pilot pool

Howdy all,
Looking to see if you guys know of companies that have low time pilot pools? I know Central Mountain air has it, but are there others? Doesn't matter where in Canada either.
Cheers

I really don't care if an athlete is a professional or amateur, the Olympics is about country vs county in a few friendly games. When the athletes step onto the ice, field, or wherever, there is no gay or straight... ohhh I don't know about that that Johnny Weir guy... Anyways, pumped Biledou won f...

Do employers actually look at any of your results from your tests etc. when you are getting job?

Re: How do I get a flying job as soon as possible?

Thanks for the replies. For sure, all of us are looking to make a living, no question about that. What do you all think about airlines vs bush flying? I know there is a lot more money in airlines, but I figured bush flying would be more interesting and fun. I've also thought about commuters. How is ...

Re: How do I get a flying job as soon as possible?

Big Piston has it right. I also have personal reasons for getting into aviation which I'm not getting into, besides to say it's not because I'm looking to become rich. I'd also rather do something I enjoy than make "good money" doing something I hate. In any case, what am I & rest of the thousands o...

Re: CPL written exam

It's pretty easy. If you did well on the private, you should do well on this one. Not much different. Disagree. Need to know a way broader array of things much more accurately for the CPL. Found it a lot harder than PPL. And yeah, Read, Reread, Rereread, Rerereread the question. I actually found it...

Re: How do I get a flying job as soon as possible?

Where can you get "pilot skills and experience"? Being on the right seat (or flying easy runs to start) gets my vote over working on the ramp/dock. Why is it disturbing to you that every pilot wants to actually start flying as soon as possible? My comment was in response to this. I know what you ar...

Re: How do I get a flying job as soon as possible?

Ville, what pilot skills and experience do you have that would persuase an employer to upgrade you fast. I can not think of anything more disturbing than a new pilot that thinks they should be upgraded fast. Where can you get "pilot skills and experience"? Being on the right seat (or flying easy ru...

Re: 7 hr float rating

So I've been thinking about this some more, and mainly due to lack of finances will probably do the 7 hour course, even though I know the 50 would be better. At least that way I'll be able to apply with float operators. Figure MIRF with IATRA and the 7 hour float rating will get me started somewhere...

Re: Some Advice

Besides all the transport Canada stuff, if you don't have a permanent resident status you need to get a work visa. I think this might be hard though. I haven't looked into it for awhile, but I know you need to have a job lined up etc. and the employer has to have a good reason for hiring you instead...

Re: 7 hr float rating

Saw a 45 hour course for under 8000, so that's about same as an instructors rating (even cheaper maybe). I'm thinking the 7 hour rating is maybe not worth it then at the moment. If I can't get any work, then maybe do the 45...

Re: Best/worst companies for a low timer

When you're a low timer you take what you can get. The good companies that hire low timers are well known and get a million resumes. Sometimes your best bet is that little known company in some small town owned by a guy and his wife who gets only the odd resume. Maybe like air Tindi and Buffalo? So...
