I would go with the company where you will be able to get the best connections and meet new people. Better to be employed than not employed! Good luck!
PS Everybody's first job sucks. Pick whats best for you.

Re: Air Canada and their taxi speed
If Air Canada gets their way: 1. There will over 1/3 of ACPA pilots list looking for work. 2. Pay cuts to Westjet wages because they are connected to AC wages.(correct me if i am wrong please) 3. The new carrier will have lower operating costs than Westjet most likely. 2-3 min taxi delays please. I...

Airbus and Embraer have the same run-up procedures as a Boeing. Maybe different numbers, but still require engine runs!

SilentMajority,
Jazz is going though the same thing AC is going through. They have a few guys suing because they do not want to retire at age 65 as per Jazz's contract.

Rockie,
I totally agree with your last post!! If or when age 60 changes, we will need to look at our whole contract. But I thought the age 60 guys thought that would be age discrimination. I have no problem with guys flying past 60 if we make fair changes to collective dividing of the pie.

Norwegianwood,
I was referring to the many other companies in Canada that have the same clauses as ACPA does in their contract. This is not just about pilots and airlines. This affects many other industries too.

I was at the meeting and found the Age 60 Discussion a little vague as well. I am pretty sure people are more informed than you think. ACPA has been in YOW fighting this but the government are a bunch of idiots. We ACPA members are paying union dues to fight this! Not sure if Westjet or Jazz (ALPA) are.

Some of us do not want Air Canada's doctors or Transport Canada involved in our medical conditions. I have a great family doctor and if we find anything in contrivance to the CARs we will report it. I am not saying a girl cannot fly!! I am using the matrix to show if you check off allot of boxes you have a better chance of getting a call for an interview. In the example I gave, the PC 12 pilot checks off more boxes than the 767 pilot. I think total time is scored the same over a certain amount....

Jet Time 7. Military Time 8. University / College Time 9. Multi Time 10. Heavy Time 11. I think age (Meani...

Re: Air Canada Jazz 757 Incident
I am not saying these guys did not do a great job handling this incident. AC probably looses a couple of windshields per year in flight. I am saying AC's name should have nothing to do with TC. AC is good at creating its own media problems. I do not think Westjet would like seeing their name attach...
