Re: What is a "relay box".
For what it’s worth there’s plenty of cockpit switches in King Airs/1900s with 10-15 (in some older SNs - 20!) amps @28VDC going through them. The switches are the CBs! Considering lots of GA planes ripping around with only 60 amp alternators… For what it’s worth - I usually associate relays with "c...

Re: EASA B1.1 to TC M2
EASA B1.1 grants for Aeroplanes Turbine, but M2 licence grants for Turbine engine(s) installed on Aeroplanes and/or Helicopters. On the ground that, can TC authorities agree to issue M2 licence with limitation: Aeroplanes Turbine Only for those who holding EASA B1.1 licence because it is very diffi...

AC Maintenance here (well - still on layoff...)
Service fee has always been $0. Always had to pay taxes and fees.
There was some pseudo-lawsuit decade ago about the whole taxes and fees thing. Basically courts said pound sand.

Re: Should Canada implement an essential air service?
... One deal they made when going private was that they would not ever, not under any circumstances, ever cut off access to the communities that depended on their service... There has never been such a 'deal' or clause. Air Canada as a private corporation since 1988 has never been beholden to maint...

I call it Regional '2'.
Binder is out of it.
This is "Sunward Airlines" basically. Avmax and it's Chinese ownership conglomerate. They've been sniffing around about 737s a whole bunch.

Re: Paperless Digital Maintenance Tracking program
Someone mentioned AC earlier. When I was still there - we were moving to a paperless system for maintenance releases - although it was limited. From what I hear now scheduled maintenance tasks and packages (A & B checks) are now being assigned and signed for on issued iPads. Defects found during fli...

The seats have been removed from inventory. All the fleet type's capacities have been adjusted.
So if it shows 5 open, then there's 5 open.
The empty middle seats and stuff you can not list on. I believe there may be an exemption Reservations can do to have families to sit together.

Do both seats go even if single occupant? I thought they were travelling with their crew-chiefs as they usually do between air shows.

Re: raic pass and layoffs
Some companies are asking you to hang on to your RAIC Your clearance is still valid. The clearance (equivalent to 'Secret') is good for 5ish years. Doesn't matter if you are working or not. The general rule from my local airport authority is they don't want you hanging on to it beyond 30 days if you...

Re: Potential Strike Topic?
You can't have a strike vote without some semblance of an agreement being presented to the pilots and voted on (ie: rejected).
To do so would be considered "bad faith" in the eye of the CIRB and is negotiating suicide in any future arbitration.

Re: Which company is being chartered for the Corona Virus Flights?
Like mentioned above, it's Hi-Fly 330 initially, maybe another if required. Also the air-stairs in Trenton reach the door on the 330 (same as 310)... Maybe not a 380 😜 HiFly has been doing some military work already lately (recently visited YEG) so they're all up to speed on things. Of course any go...
