So how long does the contract have left on it?
I bet that you won't see YHZ as a base in the next one.

The bottom line is this...............
It is a contract and a contract can be broken with a months notice.
I wish Canjet well but I would not feel that safe under those conditions.

Do you really think crews would put there bags in the overhead bins if they had any other choice?
Give me a break buddy.
God forbid you walk up a few rows to get your bag on the way out.

I agree!

Re: CATSA Rant - commuting with liquids

On duty or not we are heading to begin work some times gone for a couple weeks and sometimes for week.
So tell me what is the difference if we commute to work and then start flying shortly there after or finish several days and commute home?

Re: CATSA Rant - commuting with liquids

Truthfully I would love to see us as a group stand up and finally say enough is enough. Will it happen? I doubt it, but I do know our company is getting involved in this mess and agree it is stupid. Unfortunately this will only get resolved with the use of politics between the higher ups.
IMHO.

Re: CATSA Rant - commuting with liquids

The security check are done in Ottawa by either the RCMP or CISIS. They may not call but believe me they do check everything. I for one am fing tired of being treated like a threat when I have to go through security. One chick was giving me grief about my glasses cleaner in my flight bag. We as a gr...

Re: CATSA You F*&^%$ A$$holes

Thankfully our people and high levels agree this is just stupid and they are looking into it hard.
That's what you get when you give a group of people power that don't really have a sweet clue how to handle it.

Re: YVR Rampies vote in favor of strike

I agree that there is a lot of pride shown by the rampies when they are working. I see it across Canada for the most part. No need to come down on Westjet for the salary woes. These contracts are always who can do it for cheaper. Not saying I agree with it but that is the way it has always been done...

Re: YVR Rampies vote in favor of strike

I will take a guess and say that all thrid party contract handelers are paid in this fashion. The company is paid per aircraft turn and the contractor spreads out the money as thin as possible. I must add that as the majority of our handelers are contracts and honestly the guys and gals on the whole...

It has been approved by Transport but each airline has to apply for the right to do it. I know Westjet and AC have spoken about getting it done.
