Re: DOH merge.

AC wants the AT Neo's and delivery their future options so they can ditch the 737 Max "public perception" issue. Progress from the regionals or OTS just came to a grinding halt. The overall Canadian aviation industry is evolving and now trying to find its "new" happy place, grab a chair.

As someone mentioned in another thread AIR Transat is not for sale. Transat is. Probably to some other vacation company or conglomerate.

Re: Flying long distances in T effect ( Ground effect. ).

Thanks, one thing I can not understand is why some people only see my posts as bragging rather than sharing what I learned during my flying career. Because without fail you come across as just that in the majority of your post by repeating the same rhetoric on your "50 year accident free record" as ...

Re: Consolidated backcountry locations in Canada

For a "back country" experience in Ontario you'll be sporting floats or skis, not likely wheels only. You may find some nice beaches on the east coast, eskers in Labrador, Northern Quebec and the Nunavut are a plenty. However the transit time and logistic will be a killer for day trips !!!! Ontario is an unlikely province, if its not already private land the remainder is trees and lakes. There are some great camping beaches bu...

I see the show stopper as the current jet ban, it would need to be rescinded and then every corporate operator with a Bay Street address will want to call it home base.

Re: Taildragger Training in Ontario

I'm not so sure that insurance is that much of an issue, or at least it wasn't 40 years ago when I had a grand total of about 5 hours on a Champ and started towing. However one thing most clubs I know of require, you must do at least a couple of flights in the glider in order to have a sense of what...

Re: Taildragger Training in Ontario

Gliding clubs are a non-profit, non-commercial organization who's purpose is to train glider pilots. The offer power pilots the opportunity to experience tail wheel flying in support of their gliding operations. They require these pilots to have receive adequate tail wheel training elsewhere, they h...
