Good turnout. Would probably benefit your cause if you leave the trump MAGA movement south of the border tho. We don’t need that garbage in Canada.T1 YYZ 10AM today

Re: Public Education on Poor Pilot Wage and Work Conditions in Canada
I work in a 703 medevac operation as a junior Capt. Close to 90K and work 6-8 days a month lately. Can’t complain at all. I’ve worked 22 years in various other jobs. Mostly 8-5 jobs 5 days a week. This is by far the most relaxing, enjoyable and well paid job I’ve ever worked.

Human tendency is to push the limits or “hot dog” when there is an audience. Sounds like this “photo op” as they call it was an excuse to do just that.

Re: Leaving with a bond?
Although there are always exceptions, if a company makes you sign a bond, there is a big chance you'll be wanting to leave before that bond is up. If it was a good job, there would be no bond. I don’t agree. From what I have seen it doesn’t matter what the company pays, how good you are treated or ...

Re: Putting my own fabric on my airplane without experience
Unfortunately the fabric work is usually the least of your concerns. Once you get it off you will find wing ribs to repair, steel parts rusted that will need blasted and painted, possible steel tubing corrosion or repairs to do on the fuselage. Since the fabric usually comes off every 20-30 years th...

Re: Aerostar Down in Maine
Says a power loss. Not sure if that means complete or one engine. Witnesses say it banked hard and nosed in. So maybe one engine offline and somehow got below minimum control speed.
Anyone know what the Aerostar is like on one engine?

Re: ATPL Aerocourse : Need help with performance chart question
They are quite straight forward de-rating questions. The temperature is a bit of a red herring, you don't need it when you know your GTOW. All you do is take the GTOW of your aircraft and then look for the lowest climb or runway limit that is above your gtow. Q 23. Your gtow is 30,500. For runway l...

Re: Carrying Jerry cans of fuel in plane
I wouldn't worry too much. I haul hundreds of full jerry cans and empty jerry cans every float season in Cessna's and Beavers. The operator I flew with last summer has hauled thousands of jerry cans full of gasoline for 30+ years without an issue.

Airmanship is related to common sense. Something you can't teach. Unfortunately in this day and age common sense is disappearing at an alarming rate. Problem is, smart phones don't make common sense decisions for us yet.

I'm guessing the fact that coincidentally the military was operating out of there at the same time of the accident. I'm sure there was a lot of confusion because of the temporary control tower they had set up.

But you never know maybe it was a theft gone wrong. People do strange things w...
