Re: Baggage delay
My bag was lost once while I was flying standby on the reciprocal jump seat agreement. The airline said that if they didn't find it that they would pay me up to $1000 for the contents. They ended up finding my bag and couriering it to me 2 days later.

The screeners already screen each other. I'm just saying if there are going to be exceptions then we should be one of them.

Re: And still, CBSA agents are exempt from security screenin
If flight crew have to be screened, everybody should have to be screened. There are others not on the screening order that seem to be exempt as well. Who has a more vested interest in the safety of the flight than the pilots?

+1 to Netflix being great. Even though it doesnt have all the movies in the world, there are plenty of great ones on there. Ive never run into the "data overcharge" thing, and my internet is just basic ADSL.

Re: Job advice for 1000hr+ flight instructor
Don't be discouraged... plenty of instructors with that sort of time get hired. You might have to work the ramp or dispatch, to start; I know three instructors with similar time as you that were hired recently on the ramp and made it into an aircraft in about 3 months. While most companies do not va...

Westwind has 3 chief pilots... perhaps you two are thinking of different people.

Re: Lesson to be Learned BE20 Hanger Damage
Well, the other operators are contracted through SAA, and I would assume flying a Navajo or KA100 is cheaper than the SAA fleet, but the cost to the taxpayer is the same. You are unable to fulfill the requirement in the north, so you contract it. But you bill the taxpayer the per flight or per mile...

I use TAFSMETARS21, Sunrise sunset and occasionally FLIGHTTOOLS E6B. Someone told me the other day that the jeppesen app that has all the approach plates in North America is available for Android but I have yet to see it.

Re: Restrict Flight Training to Gov, funded programs?
People seem to think that raising standards and filling people's heads with knowledge is going to somehow change things. It's not. You raise the standards, you lower the supply. You lower the supply, you raise the wages. You raise the wages, you raise the prices. You raise the prices, you reduce de...

Re: 200 Hours to start instructor rating?
Do you mean you had 185 hours of total time, or 185 hours on aeroplanes with the remaining 15 made up in gliders? You also could have started the groundschool prior to 200 hours (provided you had the CPL written and FT done) and picked up the flight training portion at 200 hours. From CAR 421.69: I...

Re: 200 Hours to start instructor rating?
I started my instructor rating with 185 hours and a CPL. (Same thing with the glider credits.) Transport had no problem with it as long as I had the Commercial license.

+1 to Biofuel.
Whether peak oil is a myth or not, oil is expensive; compared to my friends truck runs on 80% vegetable oil that comes straight from MCDONALDS!

Hello,
My question is:
What would be an approximate time before things are fully up and running?
Thanks for posting!
