Re: Porter receiving E195-E2?

Isn’t it a transport Canada regulation to have 1000 hrs on a 100000 lbs aircraft prior to being PIC on a 100000 lbs aircraft. If this is the case there are a lot of Porter pilots that dreaming of the left seat who will have to wait a couple year longer while building time. With a qualifier such as t...

Re: Porter Problems

Wow!

I have to say I'm a little bit shocked, but I guess we could ask Canada 3000 and air Ontario pilots how it worked out for them. 🤔

Re: Reality of starting at 40?

I would do it.

There is no time like now.

I am seeing new candidates in the 50 with only 1500 HR.

I also know someone well into his 50's who just started at AC.

Good luck with your choice.

Re: Pilots in the YVR Area: We Are Hiring!

I do find it very amusing since I have never had a company pay for transportation unless it is on the airline you are applying too. I can't think of any that are paying for hotels unless you are hired and are being put up for training with some exceptions. When I applied at AC I had to make my own w...

Capt finish over 100000 without much problem.

Yes you can really make it a great place to finish your career at. It would be in my opinion one of the only true lifestyle airlines left.

Air Canada is the only place that we only seem to really loose people to

I can't help but laugh when the negative comments come from people that use to of just don't work at Porter, and all the positive remark come from employees.

How about this; Southwest is a money baking machine. They know what to do and how to do it with out killing the goose. Alaska/Horizon can make money but history has shown that their path has incurred laid off pilots, fleet changes and struggle. Which path would you rather take. myself personally I w...

It's funny listening to both, bitter people who haven't been hired by Porter, and a bunch of squatters living on an island. Truth be told our planes aren't full they are around the 62.4% mark. Sometimes we have 70 pax sometimes we have 40 pax. In all we are doing well and getting better all the time...

If you have not noticed there is always a 20% off its good marketing, The real price is with the 20% and if you pay otherwise your a sucker. If you haven't been to the island recently you would see that we are welcoming new carriers. With all the raccoon propaganda and brand labeling other operators...

Re: AIR CANADA TO COMMENCE TORONTO CITY AIRPORT FLIGHTS IN F

How about this from the interview,

Sky is paying hourly and salary not 95k to start.
Be realistic this is a start up and there are only 75 seats behind you.
Depending on how much you fly you might be lucky to make near 70k
10 days off a month.
