Re: DOH merge.

Air Canada has stated it intends to run Transat as it's own brand. I predict there will NOT be a merger of the pilot groups. There's no way AC would just voluntarily increase the salaries of TS pilots, since at the end of the day, their wages and benefits are lower by a little bit. They would be ove...

Re: Air Canada Outbid

Hardly over my head. But since you brought that up, It's only a point if it makes sense. Accordingly, what you stated was therefore more of a weak analogy at best and barely representative of the viewpoint you clarified after. Not responding to the topic, just your accusation. We agree on the market...

Re: Air Canada Outbid

I strongly doubt more than a tiny handful of people bought at $37 and it would have been a plain old bad buy. That was their all time high, was overvalued, and it held only for a few days before starting a long correction. TRZ has spent almost 80% of it's life below $15. Nobody in the market is enti...

Re: Getting a mortgage as a Pilot

To share an experience I had- bought a house to flip a while ago. Worked out amazingly to skip some rungs on the ladder. Didn't get approved at first- Mortgage broker said the lenders didn't like my monthly debt load because of a closed student line of credit from flight school. Since it "was" an op...

Re: DOH merge.

Ticket prices won't go up at all, since labour prices will drop! Don't worry about all this now, they've got plenty of time to figure out how to turn this info a depression of wages and conditions for all! Hey, for sure TS will go to BOTL, and hell, also everyone must start at year 1 of 4 year flat ...

Re: DOH merge.

You two guys that saying the potentially incoming TS pilots aren't worth crap have a very creative understanding of basic math. 4100 pilots at AC, 600 at TS, with DOH spread all through the roster. Two point you guys need to see: 1) With a DOH blend, it's a good assumption there would be just as man...

Re: Logging cruise relief time outside of Canada

Well, you're certainly looking ahead. I have 3 things to say: -Nothing is going to go to plan any further than 6 months out. Even that is a stretch. -If you just try and get a job like that overseas and skip the "horrors" of flying a King Air, you'll not only be a sub-par pilot compared to your coll...

Re: DOH merge.

I'd be curious to know if Air Canada has hired more people in the last 2-3 years than the entire work force at Transat. If they have it would seem slotting Transat people above them will piss off more employees than it will placate. I've said this before in this thread- It's not like Everyone at TS...

Re: Time for Transat pilot future poll

The top scale Transat A330 captain has a lower pay rate than a A320 captain at AC. Essentially Transat Seniority #1 currently makes less on paper than a seniority number 3200ish that holds a A320 captain position at AC. Let that sink in. The Transat pilots have landed a windfall of a lifetime. Even...

Re: DOH merge.

How is this difficult to understand? The money is in bigger airplanes. Someone who gets 500 people on top of him in the seniority list might never see WB captain spot due to the way demographics works against him. Or he will see it for fewer years. AT brings in wide body airplanes as well. A mix of...

Re: DOH merge.

For people at AC worried that this will cause a large drop in seniority, it would hardly be noticable. 600 pilots spread from yesterday to 30 years, and many being hired every month. There will be a good chunk below a new AC hire today as well as hiring continues at a large rate at TS. Also, they're...

Re: AC offer AT $13 per share

AC needed the capacity as well from the missing Max's and TS had been doing flying for them. I wonder if that, and TS's incoming A321 NeoLR's has anything to do with this.

Right, but have you ever seen such a vilification of an aircraft by the public up to this point? While the basis of it might be rooted in fact, we cant think of it logically, social media really has a lot to do with it.

Re: Max Engine question

Nobody in the flying public will ever get on anything remotely related to a 737 Max again. That's a much more delicate issue than fixing the physical issues. I’m not so sure about that. The DC-10 suffered through much worse and it was a staple of wide body airliners for over two decades after. Heck...

Re: AirTransat: for sale-Blue-rouge...?

Transat being bought by an airline is really far off the mark. Why would AC want to get into managing hotels? People should be looking at the fact they increased their foreign ownership limit allowance to the federal limit of 49% at the last meeting... Just like the Hunters did when they got TUI's b...

Re: Transat AT Inc Announces Preliminary Discussions Concerning a Potential Sale of the Corporation

Why are pilots always looking at the airline side of TS and also Air Canada? ;) Company doesn't have anything to do with Rouge. Airline is also just support. They're probably trying to have financial backing to continue to develop property down south. They'll maintain their vertical integration mode...

Don't worry, since they "can't" pass on the expense to the customer we'll just take a pay cut and the prices will remain the same for everyone else with a normal job.

Re: Mid-Air Collision Near Ottawa

You can add me to the list of people who have almost scraped metal in midair around Carp. The Practice area encompasses airspace above and around YRP, and has an MF clearly marked on the VTA and VNC, and which most everyone who flys out of YRP would hopefully know about unless they're a special kind...
