Re: Flying PC-12 and keeping ATPL current

I flew S/E VFR for 11 years & my ATPL was never downgraded... It hurt my brain a little to get recurrent with a new type rating though!

Re: Question about building time for a float/bush career

Probably not a bad idea to contact some operators that hire newbies & ask what they would like to see. However... If you want to fly floats commercially, then it is not a bad idea to build as much float time into your CPL time building as possible. I would look for a place that will eventually cut y...

Mr “Hog” oinks the truth... It’s a good place to work. Just my opinion... There are pilots & engineers working there who have been there for decades. To the Original Poster, I think they are regularly advertising because of the current hiring climate. It might Have something to do with terms & condi...

Aerocourse obviously comes highly recommended. It seems like a good way to get it done in the least amount of time. The way I did it was to gather as much material as I could based on the TC study and reference guides(Aim RAC, IPM, etc.) & study. Do some practice exams. Take exams. I passed them fir...

If one uses the Encore PICUS option to top up the PIC for the ATPL, is it possible to progress to the left seat on the Q? Or do they have greater experience requirements in their promotional standards...?

Re: new to float operation. need some information please

Just my opinion, but you are really selling yourself short in this hiring climate with 500 hrs & looking for a dock job. If you get some flying right away, then maybe.... But there will definitely be many pilots with fewer hrs than you & a basic float rating getting a flying seat this season. Perhap...

I have heard a couple "rumours" that the Redbird Sims no longer qualify for doing IPC's.... Anybody in the know on this one?? I wasn't a huge fan of the "Tilt-A-Whirl"... but they provided an affordable option for training & renewals.

Re: GNWT to buy 8 new Fire Boss aircraft to replace CL-215

I don't think any of us on here need convincing that the 415/215T's are ultimately superior firefighting aircraft to the Air Tractors. Even a child standing at the airport fence can spot the better airplane. Bombardier has ceased production of the 415. How sad. Meanwhile Air Tractor & Wipaire are pu...
