Re: “Dashboard”?

I asked once. The answer I got was to meet certain strict IOSA requirements for the jet operation’s future expansion was easier and faster to create a separate company. Regardless, it’s just a call sign, for now. There’s way worse out there. Word on the street Newark ground has been calling is Door...

Jazz has been more of a farm team for Porter as of late… E1 to E2 has been a nice easy transition

Re: Announced routes

You were recruiting and you know it, good to know you’re not blind to what’s happening around us, I would not be surprised to see Porter delay some deliveries until summer starts to shape up. Deliveries ARE being delayed but this is not the companies choice. Pratt is having a difficult time deliver...

Going to be a little hard for them to start some of the ops they plan without the Pre-Clearance at the Island. Facilities are apparently either finished or close to but there is no interest currently (post COVID) to get it up an running from my understanding. That would eliminate a few of the planne...

Re: Porter Airlines shifts restart of flights date to June 29

I believe that when Porter sold the terminal they paid off all their planes at the time so they don’t have to make payments like other airlines that are leasing/financing aircraft. Probably cheaper to just leave them parked until it’s viable to restart than to just burn money to fly next to no passe...

Re: YTZ - commuting in the GTA

I’m up at the bottom end of Lake Simcoe and no traffic (early report) I can make it downtown to the parking garage in about 50mins. Longest it’s taken me to get to the city was about 1:45. If I have report in high traffic times I will sometime just take the GoTrain from Newmarket to Union and catch ...

Also if you open one of the rear doors and the flight deck overhead emergency evac panel it creates a nice breeze through the cabin, if for some reason your APU is INOP and there is no aircart. Old classic trick from the non APU'd Jazz planes  For us the hatch in the flight deck is not to be ...

Re: Loser experiences go around, becomes little bitch

I fly for a company that has a “No Fault Go-Around” policy. If something isn’t right just go-around... no one asks any questions... no reports to be submitted... not even a quick email... It’s just come back around and try it again... If this passenger is never going to fly again then good riddance...

ATPL-Aeroplane Application Form

Anyone else try to find the application form on the Transport Canada site for ATPL for Aeroplane and not find it.
When I click on the link for the form it sends me to the Publications Office site.

I would like to try and get the form completed and head down this week to apply.

Cheers.

Re: The attributes of the 737MAX joining the AC fleet?

It takes forever to start the new Leap engine. Anyone who has flown Garretts will understand the concept of having to spin prop blades after shutdown. The Leap requires the same on start up. It motors for 90 secs to stabilize internal temps before we can add fuel and ignition to the mix. Typically,...

People who tout automation as taking over from the pilot probably don't fly an automated airplane. If they did they would know how quickly automation can switch from being an aid to a hindrance. Can't agree with you more... I don't know how many times I have kicked the AP off just to hand fly the a...

Re: New Phraseology for SIDs and STARs: Beginning April 27, 201

What happens when a point on the STAR states At or Below 4500' and you are cleared to 5000' descend via STAR. The altitude cleared was above the At or Below but it was Descend Via STAR so what trumps what, the clear Altitude or the STAR requirement?
