Float, You're right, although it's still just under $4000/month to spend in the local economy. 185, You're kinda right too. North, Sell the truck to pay off the loan, and leave the rent to the ex-girlfriend. Hawg, No tipping here. You lose out on income, but you save 10-15% on every meal you eat out...

I've been watching this thread with interest. I'm surprised that more companies don't first look for guys who would just move there and work full-time.
