Re: Air Canada Selects Air Georgian

Fact: At Air Georgian base salary for the captian postion on the CRJ pays 72,000/year. This is based on 70 hr/month with a 16 day/month sched. Projected flight hours per month is 85, so if you do the math, there is a potential to have a pretty decent paycheque given today's pay scales in aviation. ...

70$ per hour flying a 70 hour guarantee, that's 58 800 per year. Am I missing something?

Re: ~ Sky Regional 2014 ~

My next question is where are all these captains at Sky going? They're posting an ad every 3 month for captains on the Q. Are they leaving for the Middle East? Last I heard at Emirates, they want some boeing or Airbus time, so sticking around at Sky wouldn't help to achieve that.. And is the pay rea...

How much positions have been slashed in total? I know the bid shows hiring but that's thanks to the VSPs and the recycling FO seniority list

What if a few dozens of captains do get downgraded back to FO? Would they still need to hire?
I assume the bid won't be out tomorrow eh?

Re: Canadian North Nov job ad

Maybe they are only looking to hire people from Alberta. I know a few 704 captains who applied with northern time, none of them got a call, when in the meantime, 1900 FO's from an alberta company got hired. Does this make sense to anyone?

Could we expect some Encore spots in YYZ by the end of 2014? Or the moving out east expansion is only for mainline folks?

Rudder, many folks at Jazz around me are still quite confident about the future, so does biatch on the same subject. Does this, in your opinion, has anything to do with a potential plane order CR is about to make that might include CSeries eventually or any bigger equipement down the road for CHR? S...

Re: Chorus Aviation wins long-running rate dispute with AC

Come 2020,Jazz will likely find itself priced out of the game unless a miracle were to occur. That's not to take anything away from the quality of the service that Jazz has provided AC,simply a mature company trying to compete against various players and upstarts with bottom of the scale wages. Agr...

Benito, did the 3 of you interview with AC before actually hitting on the line with Jazz? Did your resumes mention Jazz as your current employer?

If I recall well, last equipment bid showed 221 Open Pilot spots as of February-March.
The recent one is down to 134 right now.
From these figures seems like the hiring team is doing a great job.

Hey guys, heard that a lot of FO's were leaving the bear recently. Does this have something related to a too long upgrade time? Or that company has such a great reputation that even the FO's get a call for Jazz? Also, are there any commuters at the bear right now on AvCan? Is it feasible to hold a f...

With SR if you consider base pay plus hour credit pay you manage to reach 40k without taking any risk. There's no encore is better than SR I'd say it might even be the contrary..

I have a crew visa. I was required to get one as I am a Permanent Resident so I do not have a Canadian passport (working on it). If you do not have a Canadian passport and are required to fly into the US, you will probably need to get a crew visa, also known as a C1/D visa. They are fairly easy to ...
