One of the Pilots from Air Lab told me today that there are positions posted for King Air Captains and F/O's. Looks like they are hiring 3 of each. Appearantly they have a contract for the aircraft and it is being Based in Deer Lake. The aircraft will be hangared at NLA Hangar.

PAL aircraft off the runway at Goose Bay

There is a (unconfirmed report) that a Provincial Airlines Metroliner has gone off the runway 26 in Goose Bay. No injuries reported however Crash-Fire Rescue is on scene. Anybody else have details to post.


Great news that nobody was injuried!!!

It was an Aero Commader belonging to the NL Government. Gear Collapse-no pax's, no injury. A/C should be ferried to base at YAY tomorrow.

The gear had a short distance to collapse. 8)

Looks like the main gear came off on landing, aircraft skidded down the runway for a 1000 feet. UGLY!!!!!

The comment about being far from home base was more towards cost prohibitivness of a Dash 8 charter. After all, when you take speed of a Dash 8 against milage rate and payload there were cheaper options of the jet kind.

I am told that EVAS Air from Gander is leasing a Beech 1900D from Lab Air to do St. John's - St. Anthony and St. John's - Stephenville, more trouble for PAL!!

He had very little difficulty attracting a host of employees to Quebecair after the failure of his first venture. He is another version of the other Quebec Aviation Guy with the initials M.L. anything is quite possible.
