Re: Flying Wild Alaska
At lease some of her flights were not rev flights. The flight with her dad wasn't a rev flight. Jim at said, when she wanted to start flying that "Ponts is an instructor, why don't you go fly with him". Don't know about Jim. Too bad they don't teach her about the "basics" first, like just flying the...

Re: Flying Wild Alaska
I'm wondering how they get all the off airport shots. Like Jim landing on the frozen river this week. Does he land, drop off the crew, then takeoff and do another landing for the camera? Same for the takeoff, does he have to come back for the crew? Or is the crew in another aircraft that goes in bef...

Re: John Travolta's 'tacky' safety video
"Captain Travolta", not really with only a PPL. He's not even PIC on his 707, he only has a SIC rating. From the FAA database "B-707 SIC PRIVILEGES ONLY." If he wants to be called "captain" why doesn't he get his ATPL, he certainly has the hours.

Re: Porter monopoly kaput!
Doesn't Porter also own the ILS? I understand it's private and only they can use it. Plus it's a non-standard approach.

Re: Ice Pilots of NWT Series on History Channel this Fall!
Interesting show.
But.. How can someone who has never flown the aircraft, sit left seat on a sked flight? Last week they said the flight to Hay River in the DC3 was a shed PX flight. Didn't see any px on the flight tonight, but they did say it was a sked, not training flight.
