Re: Professionalism
Hahahah! So many unhappy, angry, self-loathing people around. Blaming everyone else but themselves for their shitty lives. I do believe I have always included in my remarks the words: do or think whatever you want. Just don't act surprised at the outcome. Right, except that the OUTCOME is...

Re: Why would anyone want to go to Swoop?
That was what? 413 days ago? What changed? Less than a year on the line at a company you would be "lucky enough to get on" with and your jaded already? Did Jazz mistreat you? It did and that's why I'm so bitter. I can't go further into it. I do bitch a lot here, but I'm not going to talk about pers...

Re: Direct entry Capt
It remains to be seen that being employed at Pasco provides any meaningful "flow" to WestJet. Certainly having the relationship established will be beneficial, but don't be so quick to make such big assumptions. It always makes me shake my head when I hear about guys choosing to work somewhere becau...

Re: Express Pilots VS Mainline Pilots
Everyone is a lot better off when they realize:
1. No one owes you ANYTHING
2. The only person who's responsible for your results is you
Sounds like the OP hasn't learned that...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
From the sounds of it, most are being hired into courses within a few months of interviewing. Hopefully the 2 year pool is a thing of the past. Anyone out there recently PFO'd from AC? If so, curious how soon the news came after the interview process was completed. Is it usually fairly quick or can ...

Re: Pathways to an FO job
Big +1 loopa! Instructing is a great first job IF you put your full effort into it and take each students success seriously. So much to learn, and your skills will DRASTICALLY improve in the first 500-1000 hours if you are able to progress through private to multi ifr training. And then like many ha...

Re: Instructing Average Flight Hours
^Appreciate the advice, can't help but agree with it. I tend to think about the future a lot and like to plan ahead as best as possible, but I think the best thing I can do now is to do the best job I can teaching students, no matter where that is. I feel like I got excellent training from my instru...

Re: Instructing Average Flight Hours
I think I'll enjoy it, but I don't know if it's something I could do for more than a couple years. For the mean time, I'm looking forward to teaching and am putting in a lot of effort to be the best instructor I can be. I'm not doubting if I'm in it for the right reasons, I'm just trying to research...

Instructing Average Flight Hours
Hi all, Just looking for some information from a variety of instructors out there on what to expect for the amounts of hours I can accumulate (yearly) at different flight schools/geographic locations. I'm currently training for my instructor rating in the lower mainland (BC), and at this point, inte...
