Re: PPL Written Exam Prep
Hello shivam282, As the others already mentioned, going to the ground courses of your flight school would be the first best step. However, it also depends on whether or not your flight school is actually of help. I know a few small schools that have very poor ground school instruction and as a resu...

I worked my ass off last year working on highway trucks for $54000 plus having to buy expensive tools on my own for work . Not saying that baggage handlers work isn't hard but their demands seem high

Re: Skywing Aviation - Red Deer Opinions?
I went there to do accelerated ppl right out of high school (5 years ago). Yes lots of foreign students, instructors were good but the receptionist was pretty rude to me. I was having some personal issues and was kind of burned out. She treated me like shit and I didn't come out of my room for 7 day...

Just looking for current pilots opinions, im working on ppl and then cpl and all other ratings and i am hopi...

Re: Flight instructors (job-career?) why so negative?
People love to complain these days, I'm sure instructors would like to make more money or have a better schedule, but if you love it you will figure out a way to make it work. My instructor loves it but he also runs a skate shop to earn extra income. He said if he could he would only instruct. So if...

Awesome that makes sense!
Any tips on reading them?
Is it just one of those things that takes practice to get good at reading them?

Re: Gfa charts
Well it's the practice ppl exam from tc website. It's on a pdf. So I guess on my real tc ppaer exam they wouldn't label where the cities are? Lol I can find most of the major cities but iv never heard of Brandon, manitoba so I would have no idea if they ask me that on a exam

Gfa charts
I was recently laid off so I can't afford to continue flight lessons right now. So I thought might as well do ground school. I am trying to figure out gfa charts. Iv read the gfa guide from nav Canada website. I understand most of it. So I thought I would give the tc practice ppl exam a try. There's...

Re: time building
Oh yes maybe I worded it wrong. I don't wanna just fly to get the hours. I wanna do it because I want the experience and I want to explore, I was saying it because you need 200 hours to get cpl so I why I worded it like that. But I agree quality over quantity of hours.

I am getting close to finishing my ppl. I am trying to figure out how to build hours for cpl. Is it better to rent or buy a cheap 150 or something. I'm paying 125 an hour for a 172 skyhawk at my club. Which I know is a pretty good deal. I would love to own but I know it can add up with maintenance a...

Re: Typical Air Canada attitude
This reminds me of the Louis ck bit about people complaining about flying.
Oh and I love flying with air Canada iv never had an issue with them. People just love to complain. That article is so bias and no way that hotel room was "average".

ground school question
I'm doing my ppl ground school online with pilottraining. Just starting weather section. It's the one I am dreading. I'm about half way through the first section of weather. There is lots of info in there such as the ways earth cools and heats and all that. Now I'm wondering is this stuff you need t...

Re: Flap setting on walkaround
Like mentioned by a member here. I dont think the walkaround is to blame. I'm currently still doing my ppl. I was taught to put the flaps down during walkaround. Iv never had a flap down situation, there's so many times where you have to make sure flaps are set for take off and when you do control c...

Re: Have you ever fired a student?
There were definately a few days I wanted to quit, during early PPL. Nothing worked. Write that day off and come back another day. And I think I was a tad slow to solo, too, at 11 or 12 hours. A few hours here or there isn't going to matter. I honestly just about gave up. I tried to write the bad d...

Re: Have you ever fired a student?
I felt like I was becoming one of the students who would be fired. I am about 20 hours tt. 5 hours from about 5 year ago 15 hours with my current instructor. I nailed everything down in 2 hours with my current instructor I was ready to solo. But I could not Land. As soon as I got close to the runway...

Re: Mistakes not to be repeated
Just a quick question for all the guys. I have soloed and I had to put a hold on training for about a month about to start up again. When you are flying in the circuit and turning I always have to look down at the ball to keep it centered. I don't mean stare at it but ill look down and see I'm skidd...

Re: Mistakes not to be repeated
Just a thought, I'm no expert and I'm still learning but if you are stalling and you have a high AOA. If you add full power without lowering the nose first is there a possibility of you entering a spin especially if you aren't on top of the rudder? Correct me if I'm wrong? Would that be a reason we ...
