Re: Flair in hot water with the CRA
CRA is unlikely, if it ever comes to that, to seize (plural, as in more than one) flying assets. The seizing of a single aircraft might be reasonable but I doubt as your comment suggests any seizure of assets would involve more than one aircraft. Who knows? This is all conjecture on the part of outs...

Re: Flair in hot water with the CRA
Well, I wouldn’t worry about Flair’s CRA tax bill. Especially since it’s old news. But, if I were a Toronto Maple Leaf owing back taxes on $8 million to the CRA, I might be sweating bullets. Hey, payment schedule in place, we’re good. Business as usual for F8. Owing money to any number of players is...

Re: Are we in a Business Model Transition?
I’d say part of the reason Flair is floundering could be due to the fact management came from different lands and presently aren’t demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of Canadian airline history or passenger traffic cycles. It’s easy to understand why panic could be starting to creep into Fl...

Re: Liley: Trudeau showing favouritism to Quebec for new aircraft.
As a personal opinion, The Global Eye modification by Saab is already being used as an AWACS platform. (Not a computer generated picture) The Global could also be configured as a Maritime Patrol aircraft for the RCAF. The Global can carry a Maritime ordinance and electronic payload as easily as any ...

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/politics/bombardier-wins-deal-to-supply-u-s-army-with-jet-for-spy-plane-prototype/ar-AA1mK5vD The fly-by-wire 6500 Global Express. Excellent choice by the U.S Army for a spy plane. The electronics in the Aurora are ancient. Those old P3 electronics would never fit in a...

Re: Liley: Trudeau showing favouritism to Quebec for new aircraft.
The P8 is all about NATO compatibility. It has nothing to do with a common sense political decision. Nor does it have anything to do with any east vs west BS. The Global express is by far a superior product to the clapped out, end of the line B737, never ending safety “issues” aeroplane. In fact, th...

Re: ground schools canceled
Just a thought …. Aren’t all plans generally flexible, adaptable, and adjustable as realities dictate? Or, are they carved in stone as Duke likes to think they are at Flair? Anyone in aviation who thinks the industry and circumstances within it don’t flex and bend hasn’t been paying attention. Shees...

Re: Is Mr Jones Lying to everyone?
And you would know this, how? No one sues anyone for $50 million frivolously. Especially if they sit on a financial precipice. But then, you’d know that. Or, you should. Right? The illusion that Flair somehow is the only lessee to submit late lease payments isn’t a “thing” in the airline industry. I...

Inaction on the part of the Canadian government to secure the release of this crew has been insufficient and absolutely disgusting. To be blunt, the incompetence of the foreign affairs department is bush league. Far too many inexperienced and unqualified hacks pretending to be important while pissin...

Re: FAA/TC ATP Verification
1. Does the FAA accept the verification letter with the stamp in your Aviation Booklet No. They don’t. Why not? Because the FAA record keeps the letter, not the TC letter and your licence booklet. So the TC letter has to have your accurate licence and medical status. No valid medical? No valid TC li...

Since it may have been missed in my previous post, for clarity, it looks like I have to reiterate something I said. I said I have previous airline experience (roughly 20 plus years) and as such, consider myself (pretty familiar) with typical airport security requirements, general airline security re...

Sharklasers My intent with this response isn't to question your experience with these disturbances and how they may have turned out for you but rather give you my perspective as a former airline pilot and former police officer. Having had numerous first hand experiences myself in one-on-one dealing...

rookie pilot
I certainly commend you for your considerate and compassionate service to those in need.
There aren't many airline pilots who can claim to be as selfless.
You can certainly hold your head high and let the cynics embarrass themselves with their obnoxious insinuations.

Re: Where is Canada airline bailout? The deal was supposed to be ‘imminent’ — so why are we still waiting?
This government has no sense of the urgency our industry needs financial aid. Their indifference and unreasonable conditions under which financial aid would be rendered will cost the country immeasurable damage if prolonged much longer. I suspect the demise of Air Transat is imminent. http://www.reu...

Re: Winning "Spirit" here.
Isn't that an interesting comment, "I have bigger fish to fry up front than go back and play investigator in the back". Actually, the Captain is a Peace Officer as defined in our Criminal Code, so any disturbance onboard IS your 'baby' whether you're frying fish or not. It's too easy to request that...

So, if “my dog’s better than your dog”, which one’s smarter? Can you teach the older one new tricks? Now the topic morphs into a debate over financial statements. Really?? Unless you're the CFO at either airline where’s the relevance to this discussion? Wasn’t this about one offering to buy the othe...

Good news?? Well, turns out the Ever Given’s pilot wasn’t an Egyptian female after all. Il hamdiilah hallah! How much better does the news get than that? She was sailing along, in Alexandria at the time. https://www.businessinsider.com/suez-canal-egypts-first-female-ship-captain-unfairly-blamed-jam-...
