The PW150A is certainly a free turbine and props will easily be spun by wind. If the wind hits at the right angle it will easily spin continuously with pretty light winds. (15kts ish).

Re: WJ ENCORE interview

A little food for thought to all the negative Nancy's out there that enjoy bashing each other. (assuming that those that are doing most of the bashing are pro AC) With regards to WAWCON. (This is just comparing Encore and Jazz) Encores new pay scale from the latest agreement puts encore yr 1 Encore ...

Re: Encore pilots…..5 yr deal?

Not sure if ..com details are up to date with jazz but if so (and I could be wrong) the new agreement would put encore above jazz's hourly credit pay by a couple bucks an hour for both left and right seat for people hired after Jan 30, 2015 at Jazz. Not to mention getting paid for deadheads and stat...

Once the application is submitted you can't update your qualifications on the application itself. The only thing you can update is your resume/cover letter on the profile. Had that same question a while back and got that answer directly from hr.

Re: WestJet Mainline/Encore Hiring pool

Anyone get the call for Sept 14 GS today?! I've heard the latest pool #'s from the latest newsletter have the encore pool sitting at 80 pilots. I'm curious if they're still actively interviewing with a pool of that size or if they're starting to cool off.

Re: Can you help me sort out a recency question?

The biggest thing is the insurance. You can't just jump in someone's private plane and go for a burn by yourself. Regardless of whether you have time on type or not. Your name and license has to be on the insurance and most insurance companies require an hour or two of a " check out" before they giv...

Re: WestJet Mainline/Encore Hiring pool

With 60 odd people in the pool for encore and the July 27th 737 job posting going up, would there ever be any cross over for the experienced people in the pool (4k+ hrs, mpic, etc)? The interviewers are the same and I don't imagine the interview differs that much between the two jobs. When qualifie...

Some guys at work have recently sent it in to Winnipeg (through Whitehorse) received the sticker 4 weeks later. You will need the letter stating 2 crew operation if it's on single pilot certified aircraft. Not having that letter held my application up a bit when I went through the process. I also pr...

Re: WestJet Mainline/Encore Hiring pool

With all due respect. Regardless of how many hours of multi turbine pic you have, you still have to pass the interview. There have been several very experienced guys and gals get pfo'd. Encore isn't the, apply with 1500 hours and ATPL and instantly get a job, place it was in the early days. They now...

They (EC145) are FADEC. Providing the battery master is on it takes one flick of a toggle switch and they'll start themself.

I haven't had it come open in the ho, however, I've had it in the Seneca on departure at 400'. Since the prop is in line with the door on the Seneca it basically destroyed the door. I thought the prop was coming apart. Nearly soiled my pants. This was pre baggage door AD with latch only No lock. See...

I can vaguely remember stories of few cases in somewhat recent history (the last decade). When some select folks tried to get on with some large 705 operators. Out of curiosity what other creek is The Viking on aside from Hunker? Seems having a driver for the 1 minute and 20 second flight from his hunker strip to YDA is overkill :P. Unless he's looking for a Whitehorse chauffeur. I can also attest to the 900' tailings pile airstrips in that area being a bi...
