I heard first-hand from the Recruitment Manager that the two different letters mean the exact same thing. Everyone is looking into the wording way too much. Reapply in six months if you still want a job.
Problem solved!

Best Flight Cases
This is a question for any current AC pilots:
I'm a new hire and in need of a new flight bag. I hear that AC pilots carry around their own Jeps. Just wondering what you use and what you think works best.
Thanks for any info!

Re: Air Canada Interviews
Got an interview and a medical. Just wondering if anyone has a good guess on your chances once you've done a medical?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
I've read a lot of the literature on here about Air Canada interviews and I realise this question may have been answered already but I'm hoping someone is willing to answer it once again. What should interviewees bring to the interview in regards to documents? Obviously a certified logbook and resum...

Re: How to Kill Yourself on a Night Flight -- TSB Report
What about showing up for work hung over. Seen many pilots come to work stinking like booze from the night prior, bragging about how they drank, then hopping in the plane and flying away. Sad thing is it's generally accepted amond peers. Or maybe that was just the culture of those flying for the air...

I saw that. I hope I too can one day hold in my hands an official 'never been hit by a prop' award.

Re: Becoming a pilot- Is it really that bad?
In my 7+ years flying commercially I've learned two things and one of them is that 90% of the pilot population - for some reason - loves telling those that are passionate to get into the field 100+ reasons not to. The other is that if you ever hear someone in aviation say, after someone mentions pay...

Also,
Can anyone explain what 'advanced flight instruments' means in the Skills & Questions section of the online application process?

Read through this whole thread. Has anyone been asked technical (aviation-related) questions? If so, what kind of questions?

Congrats Coast-dog,
What was the email address you received the 'nod' from? I've heard of it ending up in junk mail.

The Latest INTERVIEWS
If you have been recently called for an interview with Air Canada, post it here with the date you were called. That way those of us that are waiting for the call can keep an eye on how often they are still calling. Hopefully with this thread we can keep a tab on the progress of hiring. Thanks for yo...

From what I've heard it's hard to find a good paint shop that's not really booked up. Sounds like you're onto something.

Re: Any YWG Centre/ARR Controllers in here.. a question for you.
Thanks, I was wondering if ATC knew this was a concern for us. I understand that it just kind of works out that way. But can't ARR pass on to centre a second waypoint past BIRLA (like a waypoint on an arrival for one of the runways like 31 or 36; they are there, why can't we use them?)? Or maybe jus...

Any YWG Centre/ARR Controllers in here.. a question for you.
Arriving from the North (YTH, YNE, YCR) airplanes are often redirected direct BIRLA, direct CYWG. Almost every time this happens to me we cross BIRLA with Centre and then make the right-hand turn to YWG. A few seconds later, "over to ARR 119.5." Then after checking in with ARR, "turn left heading 17...

Re: Rumors of AC hiring soon, any truth?
What about Air Canada? I've heard that just with those retiring in the next few years it's going to be mighty hard to keep the company running. Extend to 65 and all these guys get even more in pension. Is this a problem?

[quote="600RVR"]Ah don't worry about Hiring at AC. By the time Rockie and his group of "fly till you die" are finished you can count on lots of layoffs to accommodate them.

A/C Hiring?
The rumour is out that Air Canada will be hiring soon. Does anybody know any more than this? How many? How soon??
