typical monthly schedule for a pilot
Just curious as to the typical schedule of a jazz pilot. I know you typically get 12 days off a month, but what does the average monthly schedule look like? Are your days off grouped together? How is it with a family. Does Jazz like to see family ppl? How does it work if you commute? What if I have ...

Re: Headsets Inc. ANR Upgrade
I have a pair of the Zulu's that I have used professionally for a couple of years, and I have to say they are a great headset. I've let others use them that own the Bose and they admit that they are as good as, if not better than than the Bose in terms of ANR. One of the great things about this head...

Sorry Dave, not sure if I made myself clear? I am a pilot and I have a internal reference, but that person is not a pilot....is this beneficial?DaveP wrote:Yes, internal references help for other jobs too.

Along the lines of a internal reference, is it beneficial to use someone who isn't a pilot? Say a FA or a customer service rep?
So am I correct in understanding that the 35 000 will never be reached on a take off or landing? I don't know of any runway that is 35 000 feet long.
Now that would be one loooong runway. Thats like 6 miles.

Re: Two questions for Davep
Davep: At 10 selected every 2 weeks that means approx. 240 pilot interviews this year? Can I ask what WJA's goal is this year in terms of hiring? Also what is it with the Wednesday tours...is it something that is recommended by WJA after being called? Thanks for your input.

Re: ACA flight, taxi speeds.
Help me understand and learn as well. 30 knots for taxiing is a certification/limit on the tires, but during T/O and LDG...this limit is far exceeded. It must be a timing thing there? ie. speeds above this must not exceed "x" amount of seconds/minutes?

Re: How many people stay at Jazz?
Seriously though, I think it is an issue of job satisfaction. As most of us know money isn't everything(to a point). I don't work for Jazz, but honestly, if you are happy where you are why go somewhere else. I would imagine that most of the guys at Jazz at least know someone who flies for WJ or AC. ...

It's not the size of your airline...it's what you do with it. At least that's what my mom always said. Sorry...couldn't resist.

"Canada's second largest airline by departures", is like measuring the size of your Johnson from your A hole! Isn't that how you do it? Where the hell else are you suppose to measure it from? My god, I have been lying for all these years!! To all those girls who I told I have a big member......

Re: DUI
Hate to awaken this thread, but if taken to court, isn't the lessor charge something like reckless or careless driving? Will that impact this guy during a interview at an airline? I think it is still a conviction and would show up during a criminal record check? Not sure. If not, go for it and hire ...

There goes the pay scale!! Yikes! Cap out at $62,000. Regardless I really hope Hawkair survives! It was started as a low cost carrier to serve Terrace, Prince Rupert and Smithers. Jazz was gouging the ppl there and Hawkair made a big difference. Wishing all the best to Hawkair!!!!

Thanks for the responses guys! That was quick. Twinpratts: I kinda figured that might be a deciding factor more than age. I have about 2000 Total PIC though, would that help? The time is building, just not as fast as I would like. Seems like I am aging faster than I am building time. Well here's hop...

Does Westjet have an unspoken age limit?
I was just wondering....I just applied for the first time at Westjet. My thing is that I am no spring chicken...most likely a summer chicken now. Just out of my thirties and no heavy time. Aviation was not my first occupation so I am older than many with the same hours I have. My Multi turbine IFR (...

The only one who can tell you that you are too old is you! Everyone has their story, good or bad. I got into this at the tender age of 32...do I regret it? NO...not on your life. Has it been all sunshine and buttercups? No, but life generally isn't. I am a Captain flying Medivac and love it. I am ex...
