Re: New Payscale

New payscale started August 1. How much is first year pay on Dash? Flightlevel.fyi - I think the fellow developing that website is still updating some payscales, but that should give you a pretty good indicator. Don't look at the totals as they seem to be inaccurate. Do the math yourself to verify ...

Re: Making 200k+ and going to AC for 55k?

Porter, we start at, I believe, 29 days of vacation per annum. Is this excluding stat holidays? Officially it's 19 days to start, 3 x 5 day blocks, 1 x 4 day block, gdos on either end. This year I had some carry over from last year which messed up my mental math. I was advised this includes 10 stat...

Re: Grooming

I've been curious and checking the FOAG - I have yet to dig into the FOM - but can anyone point out where it's stated as crew we must groom the aircraft? And I mean both cabin and flight crew. 🤔 Im guessing its more on the P&C side (signed offer letter, employee handbook, etc.). Just reviewed bB, m...

Re: Approx Net Pay - First Year Q400 Captain

 I used to think this way too. And you know what…. Until you see the relationship, it’s not easy to comprehend. Is it perfect? No. Is it better than being a union? Yes…also NO. But one thing I can certainly attest to, things change faster here and generally in the positive direction with very...

Re: E2 pax loads on eastern routes

Focusing on pax loads also ignores what is probably the bigger driver of keeping the planes flying, which is slot availability. Porter has the slots, and needs to use them to keep them. Until US/int'l operations start, there are only so many destinations which make sense to fly to. Montreal and Otta...

Re: Early Connection Program

I know it may be a bit pre-mature given that Porter hasn't even restarted yet and not all pilots have been recalled, however, does anyone know if destination: porter and/or the early connections program is returning once Porter is back in a growth position? Still need to get our most senior pilots ...

Re: Porter Problems

I want to set the record straight here because there are a bunch of inaccuracies and baseless speculation with the OP. We were not inappropriately laid off. The notice of layoff is only applicable if there is no intention of a recall, which management still has every intention in doing. They put it ...

Just so there is no speculation or misinformation again, it has been confirmed that Porter has pushed it's start date back again, to November 12th now.

Re: Sunglasses recommendations...?

Serengeti Drivers hands down. Ray-Bans used to be dirt cheap before Luxottica bought them - seriously look it up, most glasses and sunglasses brands are giant rip-offs all owned by Luxottica. Ray-Bans are a fashion brand and their cost has nothing to do with their quality. Serengeti meanwhile is own...

Re: C Series lands at EGLC. Toronto Island loses out. Again.

Just to point out, after the steep approaches, the CS100 (I repeat, 100 - not 300) then proceeded to fly from EGLC to KJFK. A distance of *drum roll please* 3011NM. The distance between EGLC and CYTZ? 3090NM. Pretty close I'd say. Here is the press release from Bombardier. Note that they flew with a...

Re: how much Multi PIC for Georgian/jazz/porter?

Back to the original question - I got on to Porter with enough Multi-PIC to get a Group I IFR and that's it. My multi time was similarly very low. As others have said we focus a great deal on the type of individual you are and how well you work within a team. That being said I had lots of Turbine ti...

Re: Porter

There is no easy answer to the average question. My class went from as low as the minmums to as high as 6000hrs. Its all over. The work environment is great! Most pilots are happy to be there, whether it is their long term career goal or not. Schedules are generally good and the people you work with...

Re: Getting an airline job when flying the PC12

I did this - and also got hired when my ATPL had technically lapsed as well because of only holding the group III. Thus the PPC automatically renewed both the group I and ATPL. So long as you held the group I and ATPL in the past and are actively flying IFR I think that's all that matters.

Re: Porter - YHZ Base

Most F/Os start at Toronto but potentially if your timing is right a spot could open up there - however you'd probably be behind others in the seniority list who would want to move there. Presently for pilots there are around 15-17 for each position.

2500 hours, ATPL, 400 turbine PIC, 1500 turbine, 1100 PIC, bare minimum multi time - enough to get ATPL. Right seat Q400.

Re: Electronic Logbook

I can also attest that mccPilotLog is a good buy. I've had it now over a year and it does a good job at what you'd expect it to. It also has a good airline time keeping interface, and a great support team. My company had not been added to their database, and in order to do so it was a simple questio...

I would like to share my experience with Porter. I interviewed at YTZ with Porter back in june of last year, it was my first ever airline interview and a great learning experience. Needless to say I did not get the job, but what I am most disappointed about is that I never got an e-mail or phone ca...

AirSprint F/O Position

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had heard anything regarding the status on the recent (Feb 2010) posting of the F/O position at AirSprint?

Have they already given out calls and interviews, or for that matter have they already hired a new F/O?

Thanks
