Re: I thought american beer didn't count

Guest295; By the way, in regards to poor decision making, maybe we should now make light of your SUPERIOR decision making skills when you had to declare two fuel emergencies. I've never had to do that even though you claim that I make poor decisions. In fact, I can't think of any other recent Perim...

Re: Getting out of the bond???

No clear winner in Flexjet training lawsuit By Matt Thurber March 1, 2008 Charter Pilots often wonder what happens if they sign a contract to repay training costs when accepting a flying job that involves expensive simulator training but quit before the contract has expired. Conventional wisdom is t...

Re: I thought american beer didn't count

Static Truth is you were suspended THREE times. None were for violating the CARs or damaging an aircraft, but all were for poor pilot decision making. You make it sound as if your suspensions were all in the name of safety, this is not true either, and there were other ways to deal with every situat...

Re: I thought american beer didn't count

Static,

I heard you were suspended from Perimeter three times, this says a lot about your character. Yup, Jazz got a fine pilot there.

Re: PAG sell's Dash 8"s

It’s true. Perimeter have sold the Dash 8’s and have purchased 2 Lear 35A’s with medivac interiors and an option on a third (not sure but possibly CGAA aircraft). I guess international medivacs where the big money is. The Dash 8 pilots were told they will get first pick at the Lear jobs. Congratulat...

You are correct the Metro II is not certified for ¼ flap takeoffs. I know many guys using it thinking it is part of a soft field or short field technique. They are wrong. Also your chances of continuing with an engine failure on takeoff on a short runway are slim. With the extra drag of ¼ flap setti...

CanJet to cut 450 jobs

Roughly 450 CanJet employees will lose their jobs when the discount airline moves to charter-only flights, a Halifax newspaper said Thursday. Flight crews stand to be hit hard by the reported cutbacks, as 122 flight attendants and 94 pilots will lose their jobs (Andrew Vaughan/Canadian Press) The Ha...

The Cessna Caravan has had 25 fatalities in 7 separate accidents in Canada. How long will the government keep allowing single engine IFR operations in Canada? What cost is required before someone says enough is enough?

Never leave one job for another based on a phone call or handshake. Always have something in writing. The document is called an “Employment Confirmation Letter”. I have used them many times in the past.

You can have as strong a presence in the area as you like. Contracts go mostly to the lowest bidder. If Keewatin didn’t get awarded the contract several years ago, there would be no Keewatin right now. On another note Keewatin’s leases on the PC’12s are up in August and the have no plans on renewing...

Perimeter should be careful. Keewatin has three years left on their medivac contract. If in the future the contract is awarded to another carrier (e.g. Borek, Air Baffin etc.) Keewatin will have no value. In other words if Keewatin looses the contract, EIIF stock will lower.

Could be a big win fall for the Keewatin pilots if they get to go on Perimeter’s pay scales. Heard a Keewatin medivac captain only makes 50K for flying out of Rankin, after fronting a 10K bond.

To fit in with Provincial you must be willing to "Bend the Rules a Little". If you are not willing or complain, you employment there will be short. The two guys who packed it in, in Davis Inlet in 1999 in the DHC-6 just bent the rules a little too much. I know, I have worked there.

Does Keewatin still file St. Andrews as an alternate for Winnipeg on Southbound flights? Is this legal?
