Re: AC 767 Engine Failure

[quote="Meatservo" All the original poster said was "nice work". He wasn't proposing giving them a medal. You say "nice work" to your kid when he's finished his homework or to your copilot when he passes his ride. It's just a nice thing to say. Christ, a lot of you guys are jerks![/quote] Exactly wh...

Re: Point of No Return - PNR

If you travel to the point of no return in a headwind, you are burning fuel/hr, and you make it to a point, x, (which would be less than in a no-wind situation). Now, when it's time to return, your headwind turns into a tailwind, and you can return quicker, (ie. your outbound leg will be longer tha...

Taildragger Crosswinds

Hey everyone, Just wondering what the best technique is for stiff crosswinds in a taildragger. I've heard a couple different things. Whether it be two point landing and get the tail wheel on the ground as soon as you can... or two point with braking to keep it straight and let the tail wheel come do...

Re: Confed

Well there really is no drill, you just go there, study hard, keep your nose clean and you graduate 18 months later with a Commercial License, time on floats, multi time on a Beech Baron level 6 FTD, INRAT exam wrote and pretty much ready for a Single IFR ride. Failure to study hard and keep your n...

PRM Questions

I have a few questions for you more experienced bush pilots/AMEs out there. I'm a relatively green float pilot but a few days ago I was approached by my chief pilot and asked if I wanted to take over the PRM responsiblities for the company. It's a small charter outfit with three planes. Looking for ...
