Really?? Dude, it's a 737. What do you consider as "reasonable" for a first year 737 captain wage??

Incorrect. There is only one school of thought. The majority of pilots are still %100 behind the current leadership."

38 years and counting. It's a wonderful place to work. Don't listen to few naysayers on here. I have not a moment of regret.

Re: Would you leave your current job for AC?

I think being a 38 year guy at A/C may have it's tolls on why you think it is the best flying gig. It's also amusing to see the statue of leadership in finding a legitimate question hilarious. All I wanted to know is why you feel flying for A/C is the best flying gig for an international airline pi...

Re: Would you leave your current job for AC?

This is still the best gig if you want to be an international airline pilot... What part of your job describes it to be the best flying gig as an international airline pilot, especially since you would be comparing Air Canada to the likes of Lufthansa, Klm, Cathay, SAS when speaking about internati...

Re: Would you leave your current job for AC?

Hells NO, but I've heard AC is a good stepping stone into Westjet. I don't know one AC pilot that has gone to WJ but I know many WJ that have come to AC. My career has been at AC and I would not have done anything different. I fly the best equipment around the planet. I would have been totally bore...

Re: Air Canada Interviews

Honest question guys, does the current state of things not make you just slightly nervous about leaving your current place of employment for AC? Absolutely. The risk of leaving a decent 704 PIC gig earning a good living with lots of time off and good schedule scares the crap out of me...especially ...

Re: Air Canada sending Embraer 175/190s to Express

Rumour has it, AC will be sending the Embraers to the regionals. I'm hearing 60 aircraft will go to AC Express by 2014 and a bunch of baby buses leaving the fleet as part of the new restructured Air Canada.Seems to me new hires leaving good jobs to fly at AC dont stand a chance let alone hundreds o...

Re: SELF-DESTRUCT -- PRESS

A good many of those signatories were in the room when the last CCAA was announced. They see the possibility of it happening again and if it does we are not coming out. We must avoid that. Reality. So again, how is the pilot group supposed to provide a solution, considering we represent less than 4...

Re: SELF-DESTRUCT -- PRESS

I don't think that that is the thrust of what is happening here. I look at the list of signatories and see they go right back to the founding fathers of ACPA, and include most of the key players since. Some 100 to 200 man-years of ACPA experience. The main thrust, as I see it, and this may be what ...

Re: Air Canada Interviews

Interesting...cause I know a few people who have zero MPIC time and got hired, for example one of the Jazz "college kids" who probably didn't have more than 100 hours PIC time total. I know of a few guys also who only had command time on a PC-12. You're right though, why call the guy and fol him in...

. In a nutshell, Air Canada emerged from privatization debt free and asset rich as the government zeroed their debt and basically gave them all the airplanes, buildings and other infrastructure. Air Canada quickly blew it all trying to kill all of the competition by offering seats below cost, incre...

Huge bonds are disgusting. That particular company should be boycotted just on principal.
