Re: Positions available

Hello, I was wondering if anybody had some insight on what yvr positions (767RP/EMJFO/320FO) might be available for the Mar 5 class. Thanks in advance.

Re: Future of new hires

JB787 does have a very valid concern though. With absolutely no disrespect it's hard not to worry about the future of newhires when your are one, you have a family, it involves commuting and eventually moving, it involves a change in life, and all at a cost. Glass half full is the way we like to be,...

Re: YVR Commute

Thanks again for the responses everyone! Used to commuting in the States, so passes are a new concept, but no big deal. Very good to hear about the success of getting your first and second choice too. Now to research some less expensive rental housing in YVR, no laughing :)

Re: YVR Commute

Thanks for the responses, very good info. Thanks for the cost info too, always a factor (ouch!). I've read on here that getting the YVR base right out of class is possible as well, but rare.

YVR Commute

Hi all, just trying to get a good idea on commuting to YYZ from YVR (assuming either the EMB FO or 777/767 RP based in YYZ). Living in base is always the better QOL option, but trying to check out this option as well. If there are any YVR commuters out there willing to share their experiences or fol...

Re: Port System List

Thank you 337. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. The shift trade and DH swap adds such a great variety of ways to make it work. Once every three months is just enough to get your commuting fix right?! I'm guessing the larger frequency ports have much more of this variety than the smaller por...

Re: Port System List

Thanks again for the replies, now to ask for a little more:) Would a WestJet porter be willing to share a current or past pairing from one of the port cities (yvr or other) with me. Please feel free to PM me, I understand if you're not willing. Having spent some years at the regional level I have a ...

Port System List

Hello all. I know there are many many threads on the port system and I've read a bit, thank you all for the contributions. I've recently applied and am trying to get a better understanding. Is there a list of current port cities someone could publish on this forum? I apologize if this has been asked...

Re: Ready to apply to WestJet

Passed the FAAAA Conversion Exam, woohoo! Finally am legit and have promptly applied to WestJet. This could be very good timing, I am flying our plane to a prebuy inspection near Boston next week. Little bittersweet, but change can certainly be good, and I'm hopeful! Without an internal reference I ...

Thanks DustinS, glad to hear the license process is straight forward. Are you applying with the converted licenses and work visa? No question that you are a determined individual!

Re: Ready to apply to WestJet

Thank you McDoo. I feel the same about applying now, and there is no specific detail related to the ATPL and Medical. I just don't want to be kicked out of the application system prematurely because I would still need to answer NO to the questions for another month or more. Also, are you at all fami...

Ready to apply to WestJet

This is a question for Dave P or anyone else who would like to comment. I am currently a Captain on a Citation Ultra in Sun Valley, Idaho (US) and am really excited about applying to WestJet. A little history: I was born in Quesnel, BC to US born parents, so I'm grateful to be a citizen of both Cana...
