How long can a US registered Plane stay in Canada?
How long can a US registered Plane stay in Canada before it is required to be registered in Canada? I'm a dual citizen, I've got addresses in both countries. I spend most of my time in Canada but I'm back and fourth at least 1-2 times per year, it would be probably about 6 times/yr if I get a plane....

Sounds like aviation is not something you get rich off of. Better to get rich then get into aviation

Re: PA-24 vs PA-32R vs Commander vs Viking
The does the Viking have wood wings? If so are you keeping it inside and do you have a mechanic that is very very familiar with maintaining wood structure? A big +1 and one of the reasons why I would stay away from the Viking. One case of veneeral disease can ruin your day... :smt040 Good God news ...

Re: PA-24 vs PA-32R vs Commander vs Viking
Nicorette I can tell you what airplane is right for me, but presumably you want advice on the best one for you. To do that I think you need to provide some context like: - Your experience level - What part of the country you want to fly in - IFR or VFR - What is the average/maximum load you will be...

PA-24 vs PA-32R vs Commander
Ok, so I've done some reasearch into what aircraft I'd be able to afford and what I'd be personally interested in. I have come up with the selection in the poll.
Which would you choose and why? (No alternative suggestions!)
Differences in operating and maintenance costs are not of a major concern.

Re: PPL expense compensation –permitted?
Ok, I understand. Thats for the clairifcation. Now two questions: If I get a private operating certificate (1600+/year CBSAA membership) what additional privaleges would I be given? Now by "fees charged against the aircraft in respect of the flight, as applicable" would this include the maintenance ...

PPL expense compensation –permitted?
Can you accept compensation for your expenses with a PPL? You wouldn’t be “making” any money, you’d be compensated for your operating costs (e.g. fuel, insurance, maintenance reserve, etc.) I was thinking of one way of building a lot of time for a relatively low cost was to offer “free” sightseeing ...

Commercial License, Instrument rating and Insurance rates
What kind of difference would a low-time pilot see in their insurance rates if they went from a PPL to a Commercial license? What about an instrument rating? Both? Lets use a Piper Arrow with Liability insurance as one example, and a PA-47 Piper Jet as a second example. I know there are a million an...

Re: Beginner Aircraft suggestions
Im no expert on low wings. If you want retractable and under $60,000......well when I was looking earlier last year I a friend suggested the Beech Bonanza V tail. I was told if you got a 56-60 I think the A and B modles they werer lighter and flew really well. They have the retractable gear and gre...

Beginner Aircraft suggestions
I'm fairly new in all of this and I'll be looking to purchase a single prop within about a year's time. Here's what I'm looking for: -under $60k -4+ seats -newbie friendly -low wing design -retractable gear (preferred; not critical) I plan on taking trips up to the 900nm range. Just for shooting aro...
