Re: Perimeter MAYDAY
Don't know where this incident happened, but most of Perimeter's destinations are tiny gravel strips with minimal emergency services and a long way off to medical facilities...add to that a loaded plane flying on one engine on a hot and humid day, and suddenly this is not one of those 'routine' engi...

Re: Perimeter MAYDAY
Good to hear. I know engine outs usually have a happy ending, but shakes you up to hear your first mayday on the radio, especially with over a dozen passengers. KNow a bunch of people who fly or work for the company.

Current Montair info please
Hi all,
I've done a search and found some outdated Montair info. Would appreciate an update, general stuff like working conditions, pay/hours, type of relationship between instructors and the CFI/owners. Much appreciated!

Here we go again...
Here we go again... Demand for pilots is 'set to soar' as plane travel grows. The global aviation industry will need to train and employ almost half a million new pilots over the next 20 years, according to the US aircraft manufacturer Boeing. In addition, more than half a million new maintenance st...

Re: KTEB (Teterboro) and niagara falls flight.

The US side is very quiet, with some random heli flights going in and out but well under your altitude. One time we had a busjet bust out o...

Re: Fellow Instructors
It would be nice if every Class IV could be hired by their training school, but the reality is that sometimes they finish their training during the slow part of the year, or after the Spring hiring boom, or maybe the school just turned out 5 Class IVs and can only hire 1 or 2. And not every fresh Cl...

Re: Fellow Instructors
I got my Class IV 2 months ago - googled all the flight schools in every province and sent out dozens and dozens of resumes. It is important to address each cover letter to the CFI or CP - usually you can find the name and specific email address on the flight school website, if not call or email the...

Re: Class 4 knowledge test
Just wrote the class 4 - heavy on learning factors and theory of flt. Couple of questions about GPS satellites. Questions on priviliges of a commercial pilot, solo authorization, flt test performance criteria, couple of FTM questions...Open the CARs or FTM on a random page and don't be surprised if ...
