Re: Lucky charm or mascot

+1 on the watch and Leatherman.

I've always liked the saying "Hope for the best and plan for the worst". As far as mascots go, having Dino the dinosaur up front always made me smile.

Re: UFlyMike..yes another headset thread

Thanks Guys! I'm currently flying a King Air so it sounds like there wont be any issues. Sounds like a good replacement for my old X's and being able to disconnect the mic and use them normally is a huge plus!

UFlyMike..yes another headset thread

Hello All, Does anyone use the UFlyMike adapter? And if so, what headset do you use with it and what type of plane are you flying? It looks like a great way to get good noise cancelling for a good price. Here's some links for the curious: http://uflymike.com/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foeUEFxzK-c

Re: Airports that require Holding Fuel

I think there may be some confusion about what is being asked by the posted here..I'm not really sure myself but I think The Hammer touched on it. This is how I understand it: The 30 minutes of holding fuel referenced in car 703.20 is only needed after you have gone to a suitable airport along the r...

Initial Contact while in Uncontrolled

Hello everyone, I'm wondering what information I need to pass along during my initial contact with ATC when requesting clearance into controlled airspace on an IFR flight plan. Lets say I have departed YSK en route for YWG. I have opened my flight plan with the CARs station and now have to get my cl...

Re: Realistic ADF/NDB trainer?

Hey guys, thanks for the advice. I think the bank error was my biggest problem as well as chasing the needle to much. Looks like I need some more patience and practice!

Happy Holidays

Realistic ADF/NDB trainer?

Hello everyone, After spending hours practicing and perfecting my NDB holds and approach's on my flight sim, I went up for a re-current training flight and got my butt kicked. During my initial IFR training, the in-flight portion for ADF/NDB usage was very limited, and for obvious operational advant...

Re: Class 4 instructor Flight test tips?

Don't do anything in the air that you didn't talk about on the ground. Fly the lesson exactly how you briefed it so theres no surprises for you or your "student". Also, try to teach the entire lesson by asking the student questions. And finally, DON'T BULLSH*T! It's not as scary as it sounds so sit ...

Re: Photography Questions and Tips

Hello Everyone!

Does anyone have "gently used" equipment their looking to sell? I'm wanting to buy my first DSLR without breaking the bank. Any general advice you could offer me would also be appreciated.

Thanks!
