https://twitter.com/Transport_gc/status/1606299172314836994 When there's backlogs and backlogs of unprocessed Medicals and other clerical issues. Transport Canada is dicking around with our taxpayer money making a cringe worthy Christmas video. Once again... Good job Liberal government :smt038 They...
Re: Q of L
A company of contrasts. Just posted quarterly revenue increase of a quarter billion USD, but can't quite figure out how to place their crews in hotels without mold on the curtains. Grew too fast, still thinks like a bush-league tiny operator. Can't hire fast enough to keep up with the outflow of cre...

Re: Callback Timeline
Courses every month until the fall at least. I heard they took a break in February not because of lack of need of crew, but the sheer lack of training/checking capacity and needed to catch up a bit. Way, way short of ACP's. - Many leaving on recalls to previous employers like AC and Sunwing. - Lots ...

Re: Cancelled flights.
lol The defensiveness has no end - pax are "lucky" when flights aren't cancelled. Well, I suppose that's progress, in some people's worlds! Yes, a 29 hour trip is better than a 60 hour one, you've got me there! I've met many of the type of aerobod, who truly believe that posting large volumes ...

Re: Cancelled flights.
lol Your stats are so global as to be meaningless. It's a bit like saying that statistically, flying is safer than driving. Yes, we all know that. But no one chooses to drive or fly based on stats. It IS about perception, and Ignoring the power of perception has led many a company to if not t's demi...

Screenshot_2019-01-26-22-56-06.png I guess they were on-time doing it though... Do they get an extra on-time departure report for being on-time out of ...

Re: Cancelled flights.
Hahah Hilarious, sounds like you know a thing or two about “pissing and moaning yourself”! No need to get defensive just because you’re late to the game finally acquiring new longhaul aircraft. I accepted a 17: 42 hour itinerary, not a 29 hour one arriving the next day. Don’t blame me that you can’t...

Re: Cancelled flights.
Don't they have LGW direct YVR or YYC flights? Unfortunately no. I know they HAVE had them - maybe they’re seasonal? I would have booked it that way from the beginning if I could have. Just languishing in Toronto waiting for the 10:15pm Calgary flight. 11 hours to get from London UK to Toronto, onl...

Re: Cancelled flights.
Yes I called. They swapped a B737 for the B767 on the LGW-YYZ flight. So they have to stop in Halifax for fuel. This makes the connection in Toronto close so instead of a 4pm flight to Vancouver it’s now a 10:15pm flight to Calgary. THAT arrives at 1am, and doesn’t leave for VIctoria until 7 am. Thu...

Cat 1 Medicals in Victoria?
Could anyone recommend a CAME in the Greater Victoria area who would be able to do a Cat 1 renewal on short notice?
Availability more important than cost.
Thanking in advance!

Hmm. Pardon my ignorance, but where is the job posting that is mentioned? Neither the Westjet site nor the SuccessFactors site linked to shows any flight deck positions that I can find?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: 'Regional' Flight Crew Selection - What are you looking
Another question relating to the upcoming "Regional" operation: Acknowledging that the terms of employment are probably only now being hammered out, I'm very interested to know if the new airline will give employees the same (or similar) travel benefits as given to Westjet "mainline" employees on th...

Re: 'Regional' Flight Crew Selection - What are you looking
I'm curious to know, how will initial crewing be handled with regards to captains? Obviously on Day 1, you need to have both seats filled, does this mean the initial hiring will be for captains as well as first officers? And if so, what type of qualifications might they be looking for, and where wou...

Can anyone "in the know" comment on how this decision will impact hiring? Obviously a bit less, but numbers and timelines? Just trying to reconcile the news with the previous reports of fleet numbers and a/c orders.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Westjet Hiring
Dave,
I see on the hiring website that the current pilot job posting closes on June 30, 2010. As you mentioned more pilot hiring in 2010 is it safe to assume the listing will be renewed/reposted?
Thanks for taking the time to post on these forums, btw!
