Re: So when is Peak Leverage?!
Some good gains yes but the fact Porter is exempt from Scope would be very concerning to me as an AT pilot. At the very least they should have been limited to no more than the current ratio of flying or scope any Porter flying to jets with a MTOW / seat capacity of the E2. I’ve just seen the exec s...

Re: Strike outcome desires
I wish the best for AT pilots, I do have reservations about the ability for AT to pay enough to surpass AC though as they have a rough balance sheet.
One thing AT pilots can and need to do though is lock the crap down out of their scope and stop allowing Porter to fly any AT vacation flying.

Re: Westjet 737 Gear collapse in SXM today
I'd be curious, was it WJ staff down there, or did they hire an AOG company... Heard it was a team from Boeing actually which would make sense since WJ probably wouldn’t have the people to do the engineering signoffs for repairs. WJ mechanics did the recovery, repairs and inspections. A group of Bo...

See if you can get a float rating done out west and start applying to every float operator you can find once you do. Keep your ramp job for now though.

Re: Final Report, Landed On The Wrong Runway
How does that work when there is multiple rwy changes below 10 000’? That's very unusual in my experience even at busy airports. I can't remember the last time this happened. You obviously don’t fly into YYZ. Lucky you lol exactly where I was thinking, I’ve had 5 Rwy changes on one descent before a...

Re: Final Report, Landed On The Wrong Runway
As for the pilots, when cleared for a visual, tune in an approach in order to make sure that you are lined up with the proper runway. If the FMC is blanked at a complicated airport like this with loads of runways and taxiways, one could ask ATC to turn up the approach lights on the runway you want ...

The interviewer is probably thinking “when I had 2500 hours I wanted to fly as much as I could why doesn’t he?” And / or “if they try work as little as possible at their previous job with low time it’s unlikely they will step up when we need them to”

Re: waxing floats?
Check your rigging that is most likely the cause.
Start by measuring diagonally from the left front tip to the back right and then do the opposite.
Incorrectly rigged floats can make a huge difference because even a bit out is substantially more drag in the water.

Im curious; why do some people think thata 737 can replace a Q? It seems so obvious that im confused why it's suggested so often. Even if you try replace it with a smaller jet like an embraer or A220, nothing would come close to meeting the Q's efficiency for low demand short haul markets. Unless i...

If you need CFR I don’t see the point of not using Mayday x3.
A) it triggers a response in the tower
B) it tells everyone else on freq to not talk and go into listening mode so you don’t have people stepping in on the radio while crucial information between you and the tower are being transmitted.

Re: Westjet Buys 67 Boeing Planes
Lets find the answer with mathematics. The pilots per plane ratio at WJ right now are: 2,134 pilots/150 planes = 14.2 pilots per 737 209 pilots/7 planes = 29.9 pilots per 787 First, I'll focus on the narrobody side. WJ currently operates 94NGs (36 -700s; 58 -800s) and 56 MAXs. (150 total narrow bod...

More important than wages for AT is going to be scope. Porter shouldn’t be allowed to operate anything for AT North south. That flying is AT flying and needs to stay that way, the only thing porter (or anyone else) can / should be allowed is connecting people from other domestic city pairs to AT.

I am curious on what grounds medevac aircraft get denied priority handling. I can understand limited capacity, but it would only take a couple of airliners having to fly at 17 000 ft and subsequently having to divert to accommodate a medevac plane before the public would complain and the politician...

Personally, I think that there isn't enough competition in Canada in that competition at the moment is highly regulated and manipulated by a variety of parties including the government. Time will tell GIVCE! but the T4 is the only real measure. To think they are going to get their current hourly wage (or the expected increased rate) from Check-in to Check-out is not going to happen. Talk to your neighbors if they think 100K / year is a pretty good salary, it puts you in the top 20...
