BYE BYE Buttonville...SEE YAA
Although I'm very sad to hear that Buttonville will be blown up because losing airports and places to fly is never a good thing, but years of piss poor management, subpar aviation schools that have incomptent flight instructors whos sole purpose was to suck as much as they could out of students, a s...

Re: Poor Pilot's Second Job?
Honestly get a second job or get a real job and do instructing part time. I hope you have a university degree so that you have something to fall back on, if not go back to school, get a degree in another field and earn gauranteed money, ie. more than 60,000 a year instead of waiting around for some ...

Re: Air Transat Pilots Overwhelmingly authorize strike
Good time for the company to park some planes and conserve cash. Why is there no comradery from some of pilots when it comes to supporting our collegues when they are trying to better the industry standards for all of us in Canada. Best of luck to the TS pilots. Because some pilots believe in sacrf...

4,000 unemployed commercial pilots in Spain??? Of course, it is true, all spanish pilots know about our situation, that´s the reason whay Canada looks heaven for us, at least some few years ago. I´m going to inform you about prices The flight school costs us between 50 000-70 000 euros (93 300 cana...

Re: Accident at Burlington Air Park on Sunday
There is no reason why a C172 should exhibit unusual or improper flying characteristics if it is properly rigged . Part of the problem is instructors who don't know any better. Last year I was asked to help out with a FI rating at an FTU. Both of the airplanes flew sideways, so I told the AME who l...

Re: Something to Annoy and Inflame You
Not annoyed nor surprised. Maylan and the Moffit clan needs to go to school a.k.a. University and take Economics 101. The Chinese students now train at Aero Academy where the instructors there are going crazy because the immature students still believe they are on vacation and the money hungry manag...

to the self-proclaimed "industry police": Could you do us all a favour and explain Transport's authority with respect to domestic part 135 ops in Alaska? Because that's what Nark is talking about. Is Transport Canada not the governing body for aviation? And thats besides the point, good or bad empl...

Re: What are the best courses to take
Have some self respect..if your a qualified pilot you dont need to waste your life working ramp jobs..this is the modern day slave labour, that companies can get away with because of this whole belief that I have to sacrfice my dingity and health scraping crap off the belly of a plane. Last I checke...

Re: Need help for Fall 2010
My advice would be to get a degree in another field to fall back on and do your pilot training on the side. You dont need these aviation diplomas to become a pilot. Anyone with time and money can become a pilot and if the industry tanks like it is now what are you going to do with your aviaiton dipl...

Re: My future in flight help!
All science degrees are useless its a Masters or PHD or something specialized. Congrats on getting a degree though and not wasting your time onmoney on those Aviation management degrees that are even worse. And trust me when your making $40 a week as a pilot you will care about the money.

Re: College of Pilots?
Its a step in the right direction, but until pilots become more educated like 99% of society and realize that its not ok to work for free or below minimum wage because of your undying passion for flying, then nothing will happen. Flight schools are still pumping out gullible students who beleive tha...

Re: Man up.
So what is the point of this thread? To simply vent? Not very professional. This needs to be discussed with the pilot and Transport Canada if she filed a formal complaint, not with strangers on avcanada, because you have no one else to talk to. Nobody forced you to hire the pilot, you should have do...

Re: Where to report Flight School violations
I think this needs to be raised with TC and the labour board or the government. And I think all pilots should stand up and not accpet being treated or paid below what they deserve. How can a pilot be paid less than a Harveys manager or a call centre telemarketer. Thats why the easy thing for me woul...

Re: Fellow chief pilots, DFO's and HR people
Who cares...what baffles me is why you pilots accept being treated like slaves and work for nothing. Its not the fault of HR or the industry, its the pilots who allow companies to treat them like trash because they will accpet any pay and any type of living condition and hours because of thier undyi...
