Re: TC ATPL to FAA ATP conversion and study guide
Is it true that the FAA ATP never expires? If so it would probably make sense to get it before the new law with the 50 hr course goes in effect..

Re: Seaplane rating question
I guess what I'm trying to find out is if I do my float rating, then I dont fly floats anymore for 20 years but I've maintained my currency on land, will my licence still incorporate the float rating?

Seaplane rating question
Hi everyone, my search through the CARs + TC website was unsuccessful.
I'm aware of recency requirements in order to fly floats but,
If I got a seaplane class rating, would the rating itself ever expire if I didnt fly floats for a while?

Best Book to Prepare for Float Rating
Im looking for a good book to read up on everything there is to know about float flying before i do my rating. So far I've found three different books all through ASA: 1) http://www.asa2fly.com/Notes-of-a-Seaplane-Instructor--P682_product1.aspx 2) http://www.asa2fly.com/Seaplane-Pilot-P463_product1....

Re: A320 Engine Fire
I recall reading that the average time available from start of a fire to being completely doomed is 19 minutes. A traffic pattern with the bus will take much less than that. I'm a first officer on the bus and would say fly the pattern because its something you are trained to do and wont take much lo...

1) If you have a FMS, create a waypoint like D*LDO or P*NIS on the filed route and have your F/O or CAPT request a direct to that waypoint. (my personal favorite). 2) Play with his seat or try to blind him with a flashlight while he's making his passenger announcement. 3) Lock the other guys shoulde...

Re: Southwest Pilot + Stuck Mike + Pilot Rant = Suspension
Conan O' Brien mentioned this incident in one of his monologues this week, saying: " A Southwest airline pilot complained that the women in Houston were only part-doable.. Well, the women in Houston responded saying that Southwest airline pilots make love the way they fly: with frequent stops and a ...

I think 90% of all calls are: # 2 Climbing to 1 6 thousand , Air Canada 007 Whereas my company's SOP is call sign first: # 1 Air Canada 007 , climbing to 1 6 thousand Reason being the split second it takes the PNF to read back the call sign first gives the PF enough time to set the cleared altitude,...

Bachelor / Master's degree - long distance learning
Is there such thing as a Master's / Bachelor's degree program in Canada that will give credit for an ATPL / work experience and offers long distance learning? Basically looking for the Canadian version of Embry Riddle (in the US). But that program is just ridiculously expensive!

Good job!
Though I doubt this was a complete hydraulic failure. As far as I know losing all three hydraulic systems (Green, Blue and Yellow) would make the plane uncontrollable.
