I don't think Adam Vaughan has even consulted with his leaders before speaking like that, a bit premature in my opinion. Day 2 and he's speaking on behalf of the entire liberal government regarding this issue which is a few hundred million dollars worth in terms of jobs and economics. Easy there Ad...

Re: Porter CSeries/Airport Expansion
. I wonder though, since Porter has already stepped pretty far outside their original business plan what's preventing them from setting up in Pearson with both the Q and C Series? If they get stuck with the jets, maybe what they could do is keep the Q's at YTZ and operate the jets from Pearson and ...

Re: A310 - TransAtlantic Flights
I once flew on an A319 from LHR to YYT. It was weird being on this little plane surrounded by wide bodies at LHR. But the flying time was no different than a jaunt from BC/AB to Toronto really in the grand scheme of things so I figured it must be safe. Then there was the time I was on an A330 from Y...

ITAR, is this what is holding back Canadian companies from going to Tuscon AZ and buying surplus P-3 airframes for converison to air tanker ops?(i.e. any military software/technology developed/produced in the US is forever controlled by the US so not modifiable by foreigners - ITARS legislation).

This is a property rights issue and the property rights folks are going to go bonkers over this. This all came up because of the stink that arose in Parkland County when a new "Aerodrome" decided to set up shop. Why did they set up shop? The owners wanted to own their hangars on owned land, not leas...

Air Canada CEO Calin Rovinescu, who raked in $9.5 million the same year, justified Air Canada’s actions by placing the blame squarely on AVEOS for not being “cost competitive”. Calin's salary seems a bt excessive, but I like the cut of his jibb. AVEOS not cost competitive. The Attorney General of C...

Re: How Air Canada broke the law
Air Canada had a very simple plan to increase its profits. Step 1: Spin the airline’s heavy maintenance unit off as a separate entity OK, sounds good, like this, section off the business, concentrate on your core operating and farm out the rest Step 2: Starve the spin-off of work and bankrupt it um...

Ride Raffle
So a buddy of mine wants to raffle off a flight in his aircraft for charity.
He is a private pilot. His aircraft is private.
Is this doable? Or would he have to be a commercial pilot or would his aircraft have to be commercially registered, or both?

I must of been spoiled. Learned to fly at airports that only had control towers or a FSS. Cross countries were to places with towers or FSS. Yet the vast expanse of the Prairies, so many airports, so little control.
Thanks for the help.
