Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

You're right, they're worse because more people believe they are objective journalists. But back to Transat. Why did they say they're going to use as many one month extension as they need if they only have one left? Other extensions will then require a mutual agreement with AC, not just a notice.

Re: When is Air Transat likely to resume flights

I see Transat has taken to the skies again .. how are the loads looking? Not as bad as I thought: first flights were more than 3/4 full (ie CDG about 48 seats remaining in the A330), in August some destinations are 3/4 full also and others are just a little more than half full so far; and it become...

*FOOL* is click bait, they literally write 5x a week about Air Canada. Half the time it's "now is the time to buy" - the other half it's "the stock is going to zero."
You’re right.
Don’t get me wrong; I wish all the best to AC, AT and all others: we’re all in the same boat.

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

If Air Canada really wanted Transat, instead of paying $18/share, why not go in there today and buy shares at $5? Hmmm, I think I answered my own question. Because if they wait a few months they can have it for 0? AC loosing about 22 millions per day...they shouldn’t wait for months because even AT...

TRZ invokes an additional 30 day delay on the transaction. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.theglobeandmail.com/amp/arts/article-transat-at-inc-delays-closing-720-million-takeover-by-air-canada/ And they will do the same next month, we’ve been advised weeks ago. Curious as to the number seats in the A321neo. What sort of pitch in economy? How high can it get on a full load trans-Atlantic? What’s the cruising Mach number?
199 seats including 12 Club. Full load they cross at FL330/340 .78/.79

Also, the consequences of getting sick in Italy are disastrous.
Exactly. There's an important point to consider too in that alot of travel insurance companies are not covering if you get ill from covid-19 while abroad.
Transat will include health insurance for Covid to their passengers.

Can I assume Transat will push its restart until winter season now? No they won’t. They are committed, they’ve already started training pilots and the first flights to some destinations in europe are almost sold out (like Paris). Transat is expecting/hoping the quarantine rule to be lifted in Augus...

As far as the deal goes JME comments sound less confident about a done deal than he did two months ago and if he is so confident that TRZ could make a go of it on its own prior to this industry meltdown why was he trying to sell it. He could see the writing on the wall is my belief. The operation b...
