Re: Air Canada Second Trip to C.C.A.A.?

I have no hate on for AC as you assume. AC will get its standard tax payer funded bail out and continue being bloated and privileged. I guess you feel triggered and need to pull out the pink tie, and Costco jokes because I start bringing out the financial facts. Enjoy yet another B pay scale. Here ...

Fanblade listed the real and true... SIX facts. Read them and save yourself a great deal of personal grief and stress.

He nailed it as true and cold as this or any merger goes. Well stated.

Re: 777-200 to be retired?

The 777-200 economics are not that great anymore when you see the B787 range and fuel burn. Most of the worlds B-777-200's would make very good long range freighters. The old stretch DC-8's got another twenty years of good service after the end of their passenger days, flying freight.

Can also fly Gliders that are modified with hand controlled rudder. freedomswings.ca

Also a friend with no left leg was certified on Cherokee 140 and 180 back in the mid 1960 s. He had designed and built a hand control for the rudder bar and the MOT approved it.

Virus and Bookings

If this virus is not brought under control soon it will have very significant damage to International flying revenues AND future bookings. Air Canada has three major destinations in China alone not to mention it is close to the summer season in Italy. Also three destinations there. Even with a fairl...

Call it as it is. Aircraft broke and the pilots did a first rate job of getting it and everyone home safely.

WELL DONE !

Ratherbe.............You and those that thought up TA1 are about to be finally gone. I hope permanently. The first glimmer of hope for a PILOTS UNION in many years is about to happen. Rage all you want. Your time is up. The days of giving it all away for free is about to end. Good luck with your eff...

Re: Glider Flying

Look at yorksoaring.com if you want to proceed. Cost will be around $3000. for most students. In the summer they can train you to be a Glider pilot in about three weeks if you proceed full time at it. In the end the experience will shorten the amount of training and time to obtain your Private Licen...

Re: Thoughts - Cadet Pilot Trends

A Cadet program is not likely in Canada except that the Regionals like Jazz, Porter and Encore may expand formal programs with the Aviation Colleges for direct entry pilots. The so called pilot shortage here will ease in about three years and the attrition at the larger airlines will diminish consid...

Re: Guelph airpark (flight school?)

Not very likely in the near future. There was an off shoot for Brampton but with the shortage of C172s and Instructors, many flight schools have closed or having great trouble holding onto Instructors.

Re: Ontario Colleges

Seneca is very good but four years and expensive. Sault is three years and very good but math is the big challenge and the aircraft are old and frequently they fall well behind in flight training. Confed has lost its Bush focus and you end up with a single IFR only. Jazz has been hiring straight out...

Re: Taildragger Training in Ontario

Brampton Flying Club does tail wheel training and are use to training pilots that go onto glider towing. Ask for Peter F. as he is the pilot with extensive glider towing background and a great tail wheel Instructor.

Cheers.

Re: DC-8 63

The 63 had a much improved wing over the earlier 61 series. Not an easy plane to land smoothly consistently but one of the great aircraft of the era. The 73 with the CFM engines was a real power house but with the engines only 24 inches off the ground it had limited cross wind limits before the engi...

Re: Gloom & Doom Q2 outlook...are you kidding?

Some one asked Winston Churchill what he thought about socialism. He said it was wonderful.. but the one problem is..... " that sooner or later you run out of other peoples money." How about a flat tax! If one makes $50.000 they pay X dollars tax, if another makes $100.000, they pay twice as much ta...

Raymond,

Thanks for posting this. As you know , ACPA does not tell the members about the case OR their non supportive position they have taken in this case. They continue to think that silence is golden and they have their own agenda.

pilots don't pay any higher taxes then any of the other working stiffs in the country. I pay more tax than almost every person I know. In fact most “working stiffs” still think I should pay more. When your tax rates reach over 50% of the dollar YOU earn; there is something Wrong with t...

Firstly comparing grocery store chains to airlines is quite a leap but if you must go there, I don't believe the employees at No Frills make 40% less than their undoubtedly underpaid counterparts at Loblaws... Some one mentioned this may "have implications for all labour in Canada" and my point was...

Re: Air Canada Wins CUPE Grievance re B2 Passes For Pilots

Sinister is entitled to his own opinion. The simple math is that 99.9% of the pilots think that a pilot, Capt.,F/O or RP should go first for D.H's. SIMPLE fact. Did the F/As take a 20 % pay cut back in the early 2000;s...................NO. The training and responsibilities of the Pilots stands on i...
