Re: GA Lemo or Airbus Plug
LEMO headset plug supports stereo, mic, power. XLR is mono, mic, power. Adapters are available between all. I'd say LEMO along with dual GA and XLR adapters as required.... Though, depends on airplanes you'll be flying - if no prospect of stereo music from the airplane, then I guess it doesn't matt...

Re: Ipad Mini 8.3in or Ipad Air/Pro 11in
Don't have a picture on this phone, but it will fit in between horns of the Navajo yoke, with just enough for one hand to fly with My company used a 796 on the Yoke, that is why i said it Yoke mount isn't an option unfortunately. I am still leaning towards the Mini, but the Air would have a signifi...

Ipad Mini 8.3in or Ipad Air/Pro 11in
I am looking to purchase an iPad. I've used the iPad Mini in the past, but never the larger 11in iPad Air or Pro. I am having difficulty deciding. The Pro i am not considering due to the price, but the the Mini and Air aren't all that far apart with pricing. Would like to get some real word feedback...

Okay, took me a while to visualize it, but yea, now that makes sense if you are holding a distance away from the fix....

Re: Hold Clearance
A bit misleading in the underlined statement - hold clearances won't reference the current location of the aircraft, just where they expect the aircraft to be holding once established (ie which direction from the fix). Correct, the only reason the position would be to the north is because the the t...

ATPL Minimum Requirements
So I am looking at ATPL minimums... I know about the 25hr Night XC PIC and the 75hr of Instrument, but i wasn't aware of the 100hr of Night Total Time. Is this something that has changed recently? Or has this always been the minimums? Just took me by surprise when I read it, that's all... https://tc...

Has anyone recently used the Wise Pilot ATPL (SARON & SAMRA) Question Bank to prep for they TC Exam? How are the question? Difficult, Easy? Are they accurate and without errors? Re: Electronic Logbook
Have used an excel spreadsheet for the last 4 years since converting from paper. Has worked perfectly for me. Agreed! Although my Garmin Pilot logbook is pretty decent too - but pricey. But Excel is great! Is creating an excel sheet an approved method by TC? And if so, how do you get your entries c...

Just curious what sort of electronic logbook pilots are using. Free or paid versions. Why pay? Worth it?

Float Flying for low time Pilot
Cautious if there are any employment opportunities to fly floats with minimal hours. I have my Group 1 Multi-IFR . TOTAL 950TT 700PIC, but only 8hr TT on floats. Aside from the obvious Dock Hand to Float journey, are there any other options for someone like me who'd love to find a gig flying a Float...

AMA vs MEF
Does anyone know what the difference is between Area Minimum Altitude on the Low Chart and Maximum Elevation Figure on the VNC? I know the AMA provides a minimum 1000ft obstacle clearance and MEF 328ft. But if you look at the images below (Ottawa Area) the is several thousand feet difference between...

Re: Constant Speed Props
My question was more hypothetical... if i had to decent quickly and shock cooling, airspeed isn't a factor, am i putting unintended stress on the aircraft that i am not aware of? Basically, can i decent with full fine prop with low MP, basically using the prop as a speed break would result in a high...

Re: Constant Speed Props
Is low MP with High RPM damaging to the engine? Let's say i am doing a power on decent from 12K feet. I keep my MP at 20in and RPM at 2450. This decend slowly cools the engine. No risk if shock cooling. As the CHT lowers to around 280 degrees, can i reduce MP to idle (10MP or less) with 2500RPM and ...

ASA CX-3 for Canada INRAT Written Test
Hello fellow Pilots! I currenly study for the INRAT written. Got my PPL/CPL in 2005/06. It's been a long time since I've had to really study for something. Anyways. I have an ASA CX-2 that I've barely used. But I see that now there is the new CX-3. Both are in the approved list on TC Website to the ...
