Re: Future of Canada's Airline Industry

But to go back to the OP, the above examples are rare-a lot of pilots do not have this type of pay or luxury schedule, especially for the first five or so years after starting to work as a pilot. And if most pilots did have that lifestyle, there certainly wouldn’t be a shortage. Don’t compare yours...

Re: Use of APU

I know a skipper that used to work there. He said they had to send an email every time they started the APU and explain why it was required. And if they were sitting on the ground for less than a certain amount of time it wasn't acceptable to turn on the APU for bleed air. Could be lies, could be o...

Here's hoping shareholder greed prevails.

TS pilots keep their company and schedules.
TS management and office staff keep their jobs.
AC pilots maintain their career progression.
Shareholders get the one thing that matters to them.
Legault keeps his legacy.
Onex is kept out.

Re: Air Canada Buys Air Transat

I suspect Transat was part of the Onex/WestJet plan and that's got completely ruined. I wonder if Onex will pull out of the deal now. Might see a WJ/Onex counter offer yet. Jerry doesn't walk this easily. If you’re gonna talk the talk, at least get the guys name right  Reminds me of the passe...

Worst Q400 sims in existence. Have fun.
Have you ever seen them both "land" at the same time? I thought the building was going to collapse.

Ps - what happened to the CP?

PT6on....

After reading your post, I can confidently say you should definitely not fly the next day. Or the one after. Or ever after.
Common sense is a critical quality as a pilot and you obviously lack any of it.

Re: Air Canada and Westjet...what a joke

Was waiting for a shuttle somewhere in Canada last night. The smoking pit was about 15 feet away. Couple of people lit up some marijuana cigarettes. I wouldn't have known until I smelled it, ans by then, I must have caught some second hand smoke. Should I book off for my flight today?

Re: Which Canadian Airlines expect their Flight Deck Crew to also be Cabin Groomers?

I would like to reply to this by giving my experience in becoming a pilot. Easy? Maybe for you? I got a degree and worked as an engineer for many years. It was easy because I really enjoyed getting the license and never considered it anything except fun. When I started my education level was grade ...

Re: 2018 Pilot Hiring

Can anyone explain why take cadets over experienced pilots? A 1500 hr instructor / float pilot / Navajo driver would certainly make a better candidate than someone fresh out of school. Im sure the cadets go through quite a vetting process, and turn out great, but to my understanding, the pay rate is...

I wonder if having more than one person employed in crew payroll could have prevented this? One day they will learn there is a cost to doing business, for the sake of a lot of good people working there, I hope it’s soon.

Re: ATR vs Dash

As a former Q400 driver, I was really pleased with my experience riding in the back of the ATR. It was SO quiet. Cabin temperature stayed at reasonable levels too (we were flying in SE Asia!). The Q would consistently hit jungle sweat levels in the cabin if the OAT started flirting with the mid 20s....

This is amazing. I don't know what the cost of living in Chilliwack is, but that's a very decent living salary. You could find a lifer for 72K base +

That or a very cozy early retirement gig. What a time to be starting a career.
