Re: Restaurant Deals for Pilots
flyinhigh: Because I am new to AVCANADA, my opinion on a non-AVCANADA related topic is somehow less valid? Not sure I follow the logic. Regardless, if you do not want to use it, then don't use it. The only point I was making is that I find it highly unlikely that someone will steal my ID based on on...

Re: Restaurant Deals for Pilots
Okay, but you do realize Hubb never asks you for your actual address (only your email address). Look, I am not an identity theft expert. But to say that you can steal somebody's identity just by having their name and their date of birth is a little bit exaggerated, methinks. If this were actually th...

Re: Restaurant Deals for Pilots
Um, I think that is a little bit of paranoia, no? I don't know about them being around since 2008 as I was told they are a brand new company. But either way, I think you need more than somebody's name and date of birth in order to steal their identity. I am sure you at least need their SIN number as...

Re: Restaurant Deals for Pilots
Yup, the discounts are only valid at the restaurants they have listed. As far as I know it is still a brand new company, but from their website it sounds like they will be continuing to add new restaurants as they go. (I actually even sent them an email with a couple restaurant suggestions and they ...

Re: Restaurant Deals for Pilots
Not sure what Hubb gets out of it. I guess they probably have something setup directly with the restaurants who want to promote their businesses to flightcrews. All I know is that it is completely free for pilots and flight attendants, which is a very nice perk. Yeah, their "How It Works" section ex...

Age of Retirement - Thing of the Past?
So it appears two AC pilots have successfully beat mandatory retirement. George Vilven (67) and Neil Kelly (65) are being ordered back to work at full seniority, after a recent ruling by The Canadian Human Rights Tribunal. They stated that Air Canada's contract with ACPA was discriminatory. Has anyb...

Restaurant Deals for Pilots
Hey folks, Anyone see this? www.hubbcard.com I tried this out the other day in Quebec City. They have discounts for pilots in restaurants all across the country. Some are pretty good (I got a free drink, and 20% off my bill in Quebec). This is for all airlines too, you just need to either be a fligh...
